How we wash our car - "A man who polishes his car polishes himself".

My Family's Car Life

Car wash in our house

Car.Nakabayashi Kogyo's body coverAlthough the number of car washes has decreased dramatically since I started applying(My husband says it's about one-fifth to one-tenth of what it used to be.)My husband does not use any hand car wash service at gas stations and washes his car by himself. On hot summer days and cold winter days, he washes the car very carefully, sweating and mosquito-bitten.

So today, I would like to share with you how we wash our cars.

Step 1. Remove dirt with a high-pressure washer.

in my familyKärcher high-pressure cleanersbut first wash the entire body with it.

As for the wheels, he said that if they are washed down with a Kärcher, they will be almost completely clean. Then, he said, only the dirt that could not be removed when wiping up should be wiped off.

If there are stains that cannot be removed with just this, or if there is fine iron dust on the surfaceClay cleaner for car washto get the dirt off the area. In this regard, my husband is

If you put the cellophane that wraps a box of cigarettes or a box of candy on your hand and touch the car, you can see how rough it is.

He said.

By the way, I used to know nothing about car washing.Just wipe it off."So I suddenly tried to wipe off the dirt with a dry cloth without even spraying water, and on the contrary, I put fine scratches on the body, and my husband warned me severely (sweat)... I'm sorry...

Step2. Blow off water droplets with a blower.

Then, a blower blows the water droplets away, but in our house.Ryobi" blowersusing the

He said that this would make it very easy to skip the water droplets, greatly reducing the time required to wipe up the car. In other words, like an automatic car wash at a gas station."The water is sprayed vigorously to remove the dirt, and then wind pressure blows the droplets away."I guess that means you are doing the work yourself.

Step3. Wipe up with coating agent

Then, wipe on the coating.(We use Shurastar Coating Agent Zero Drop)Wipe it off carefully with a car wash towel (cloth). Our Porsche has a body coating, so we do not use compounded wax and detergent is sufficient.

The car is clean enough to end the wash here...

Step4. Wipe dry with a dry towel.

My husband is.Always wipe dry at the end.Yes, it is. There is a big difference between doing this and not doing this. By adding this last step, the body will be shiny and smooth, and the cleanliness will last for a long time.

And honestly, I don't think it would be easy to wash a Panamera by yourself.(I mean, help me out, will you?)I was in a gas station and often came across a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or Panamera coming in for a hand-wash. So I asked my husband if he would be interested inWouldn't it be easier to just ask the gas station to hand wash your car?"I said.

No matter how expensive luxury cars I can afford, and no matter how much I don't have to worry about financially to ask for gas at the gas station, I'mNever forget your first love. And I don't want to forget how I felt when I had no money and had to wash my car by hand at a car wash late at night, so I do it myself.
Moreover, when I wash the car myself, I feel like I can talk to the car and understand its condition at the time. Whether or not I understand the condition of my car greatly affects its performance, so as a car lover, I want to wash my car by myself.

And. I see...

And my husband went on to say this.

I mean, one of my mottos is "A man who polishes his car also polishes himself.

I didn't realize that......you really are all about cars in your mind, aren't you?

    Good evening.
Your husband loves to wash the car...

I wash my car by hand in hot summer and cold winter whenever I have time!
In midwinter, when it's below freezing, the water will freeze before it blows up, so I don't do it.

If the weather is nice and the car is dirty, I go back home to wash it during my lunch break from work. (Because it is close to my office).

As a test, I counted the number of times I have washed my car since January of this year, and as of the end of October, I have washed it a total of 74 times (not one car, of course, but multiple cars). (Of course, not one car, but multiple cars.)
    At this rate, I don't think we'll reach 100 times a year...

      Thank you very much!

      It's amazing!
It shows how much you care for your car!

      >To give it a try, I counted the number of times I have washed my car since January of this year, and as of the end of October, I have washed it a total of 74 times.
Wow that's great !!!!!!!! If it's 100 times a year, that means you wash it once every 3 days!
      It's too awesome!

Or rather, about recommended car wash methods and products.
I'd love to learn about it and blog about it!

Mina. Thank you very much. I always read your articles. I am very much impressed with your article on car washing. I used to wash my car by myself, but it became a hassle and I left it to the machine wash these days. I used to lease my car, so I didn't really feel like it was my beloved car.
Next week I will finally take delivery of my Panamera. In the winter in the U.S. (Michigan), cars get very dirty due to snow-melting chemicals. The temperature is usually minus 10 degrees Celsius. I don't know if I can wash the car by myself, but I'm going to take a lesson from them and try a little harder!

      Mr. SN.
I've never washed my car, even though I write about it in a great way... ^^^^;.
My husband was polishing the car early this morning.

      >I had leased the car, so I didn't really feel like it was my car from the bottom of my heart.

Certainly, with a lease, it seems unlikely that I would feel that much attachment to it as my car...
Would it be different if they were purchased?

      >In the winter in the US (Michigan), cars get extremely dirty from snowmelt. The temperature is usually minus 10 degrees Celsius.

      What! Is it that cold...!
I mean, that would be a lot of work to wash it yourself, but the water would freeze...
Panamera delivered, really fast turnaround time!
I would be very happy if you could let me know how it went after that.

I always enjoy looking at your site.
Regarding car washing, I am a lazy person and do not like to wash my car, so I cannot drive a black car that shows dirt.
I believe that it is during the car wash that the car body gets the most scratches.
To make the dirt as inconspicuous as possible, we chose white for the Cayenne and brown for the 981S as the body color.
Previously, the carport in front of the house and the garage at the back of the house were unpaved, so we just had to park them and they were covered in dust just as strangers walked by.
Even if the body cover is kept on, the fine dust that passes through it will adhere to it.
This year, we took the following dust control measures in a bold move.
    (1) Ceiling and interior walls were covered in the garage to eliminate exposed columns and beams.
    (2) Dutch foam tape (19 mm diameter round urethane tape) was applied to the underside of the garage shutters to eliminate the concrete gaping.
(Tape to seal gaps in sheet metal paint)
(iii) A 60-meter pathway from the entrance of the house to the end of the garage was permeable pavement.
    (4) Only half of the garage (the side where the 918S is placed) was glued with wood-grain P-tile over an epoxy floor coating agent, and the edges were enclosed with 40 mm wide, 4 mm hot aluminum material.
(The reason why only half of the space was covered with P-tiles is because I use the other half of the space for maintenance of my motorcycle hobby, and I was worried that the center stand might damage the floor or stain the floor with oil, etc.)
I'm not sure any one of these methods would have solved the problem, but the synergistic effect of all four has resulted in much less dust.
Among them, (3) was very effective.
I thought it would be perfect if I raised the garage floor 2CM just inside the shutters to make a step, but even with just foam tape, the dust is completely different between the inside and outside of the shutters.
I also think it would be perfect if the dust could be stopped from entering through the gap between the shutter and the rail on the side of the shutter, but I can't think of a suitable way to do this at the moment.
If you have any good ideas, please let me know.
Thank you for your continued support.

Thank you for all your comments!
It's true that black cars really show off dirt such as dust and water droplets...
My husband washes the car a lot, but I, on the other hand, am a pain in the ass... I think it would be better for me to choose a color that doesn't show dirt... ^^^.

      Regarding the measures, wow...!

      >1) Ceiling and interior walls were covered in the garage to eliminate exposed columns and beams.

Our house is detached but rented, so we cannot remodel the parking lot, but I am envious of the shuttered parking lot that we would definitely prefer if it were originally available....
So we have not taken any measures at the moment, or we don't know much about how to counteract...
It's better to be able to live indoors...

Here, I'll be sharing more of your comments in an article later, and I'd be happy to post them then!
      Thank you for your cooperation.
