PCCM Announcement

Porsche has announced a new audio navigation system designed specifically for classic Porsches. Although navigation systems for classic Porsches have been available before, this can be considered a successor to those earlier models. The product is called Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM), and it comes in two sizes: 1DIN (PCCM) and 2DIN (PCCM Plus).

Both models support DAB+ (the digital radio standard used in Europe), as well as Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth. Media playback options include SD card, USB, AUX, and Bluetooth. The 1DIN model features a 3.5-inch touch sensor display and is compatible with air-cooled Porsches from the original 911 through to the last air-cooled 993.

Meanwhile, the 996 generation 911 and 986 generation Boxster models could optionally be equipped with the 2DIN Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. Now, the PCCM Plus with a 7-inch touchscreen, designed to fit in the same space, has also been released. This model appears to support Google’s Android Auto as well.

By the way, my husband is eager to install one in his 964 and has already contacted the dealer to inquire. Whether it will be released in Japan remains unknown, but if we manage to get one, I’ll be sure to share it here on the blog.

PCCM Purchase and User Experience

Since the product is not yet available through Japanese Porsche dealers and there are no plans to introduce it here, we finally managed to get an official Porsche PCCM (Porsche Classic Communication Management system) from a US website.
