Porsche 911 Contract

The other day, I finally signed the contract for my very first Porsche, a Porsche 911.

I can’t share the details about the model or specifications just yet, but I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I have finally signed for the 911 (the photo at the top is of a GT3 we once had at home, so it’s unrelated).

I started this blog back in June 2017.

At first, I began this blog casually. The daily visits were in the single digits for a long time.

I wondered, “How can I increase my blog traffic…” and after about two months of trial and error, I decided to change the blog’s title. The new title was:

“Until the Day I Buy a Porsche with My Own Money”

From the day I changed the title, the blog’s traffic shot up dramatically, and comments like “We’re rooting for you!” “Please make your dream come true!” started pouring in, and the blog grew steadily.

To be honest back then,

“Sure, I thought it would be nice to buy a Porsche with my own money someday. But I wasn’t that serious about it, so I never expected such a response…
But now that I’ve publicly declared it, I absolutely have to keep this blog going until I buy a Porsche. There’s no turning back now…”

I remember feeling conflicted (serious much? lol).

Five and a half years later, I have finally signed the contract for the 911, taking a big step closer to my goal.

The production slot hasn’t been decided yet, and the delivery date is still unknown, but the loan has been approved, and I’ve already transferred the deposit, so now I’m just waiting to hear from the dealer.

Since I’m going all-in financially, money is tight, so every day feels like I’m being pushed with “Work hard and earn more before the delivery!” (laughs).

Thanks to All My Blog Readers

I never imagined that someone like me, who had zero interest in cars, would one day buy a Porsche.

Some people say, “You must have been interested in cars from the start since you started a blog about it?” or “Even if you weren’t interested, you must have known a bit about cars?”

But honestly, I had absolutely no interest at all—not even a millimeter.

I used to think, “I know Prius and kei cars, but all other cars look the same to me.” I never consciously looked at cars driving around town because I just wasn’t interested.

I got my driver’s license simply because “it might be useful as an ID.” I was a paper driver for over ten years and naturally assumed I’d never actually drive a car in my life.

Then I married my husband, who watches car YouTube channels and Car Graphic TV almost daily, and I was drawn into car conversations. On our honeymoon in Germany, we rented a Porsche and toured car manufacturer museums…

My husband kept telling me for six months, “Get in the car! It’s fun!” I kept resisting, but then one day he insisted, “Come pick me up in Umeda by car now!” — that tough love was the turning point that got me driving.

Though I scratched and bumped the car many times and felt down each time, I upgraded from an automatic-only license to a manual license, started practicing driving a manual, bought a BMW 320i (manual), attended Porsche Driving School in a manual Boxster, and last year, bought a brand-new Swift Sport (manual).

On the personal front, we now have three children including our eldest son, I started a new company last year, and have been working hard and ambitiously. Through all these experiences, I’ve finally come this far.

I’m sure that if I hadn’t started this blog, I wouldn’t have bought a Porsche, nor opened so many doors to different worlds.

There were times I was scared of comments and couldn’t write, times I lost sight of why I was blogging, and times I felt lost and troubled. But each time, the comments and messages from readers encouraged me.

It’s thanks to the warm support and encouragement from all of you that, despite ups and downs, I’ve been able to keep moving forward toward my goal.

Thank you so much.

That said, this is just the beginning (I still wonder if I can really pay off the loan… lol), so I’ll keep working hard to comfortably maintain the 911, and while the blog pace may slow down, I hope to continue it.

Thank you for your continued support.
