New Chronographs from Porsche Design
It has become a tradition that whenever Porsche announces a new model, Porsche Design follows up with a matching wristwatch. Last week, alongside Porsche’s launch of the latest 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring, Porsche Design introduced the new “Chronograph 911 GT3” and “Chronograph 911 GT3 Touring.”
These new timepieces are designed specifically for buyers of the new Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 Touring Package, featuring customization options that align with the car’s specifications. Built on the Chronotimer Series 1, which carries the spirit of Porsche Design founded in 1972, these watches embody the concept of a “sports car on your wrist.”
High Performance Features and Refined Design
The new Chronograph 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring are crafted from lightweight titanium, featuring a 42mm diameter and 15.3mm thick case. Buyers can choose between a glass bead blasted finish or a matte black titanium carbide coating. Sapphire crystal covers both the front and back, with titanium screw-down crowns and pushers positioned on the right side. The watches are also water-resistant up to 100 meters.
A key highlight is the perfect match with the car and the ability to customize online. In addition to case finishes, customers can select either a matte or black bezel, and choose from pulsometer, tachymeter, or minute scale markings.
Highly Customizable Dial and Movement
The new Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT3 model features a new hexagonal pattern called the “GT Dial,” inspired by lightweight materials used in motorsports. This same design appears on the 911 GT3’s instrument panel when the Sports Chrono GT Clock option is selected.
The dial layout includes bold indices, a yellow ring, and black rhodium-plated hour and minute hands coated with Super-LumiNova. Chronograph hands can be chosen in white (Performance), black (Essence), or yellow (GT). The seconds disc at 9 o’clock is engraved with “911 GT3” and a checkered flag motif.
Inside, the watch houses the COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 movement. This in-house caliber, developed in collaboration with Sellita, features a flyback function, beats at 4Hz, and offers a 48-hour power reserve.
Pricing and Availability
The Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring will be available for order starting at the end of this year. Prices begin at €10,250 (approximately 1.6 million yen). These watches will be sold worldwide through Porsche Centers and Porsche Design Stores, but only to customers who purchase the new Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 Touring Package. Availability in Japan is currently unknown.
These new chronographs are must-have accessories for GT3 enthusiasts. Wearing a watch that perfectly matches your car will deepen your pride as a Porsche owner. The high degree of customization also offers the joy of creating a truly unique timepiece just for you.
