5 Years of Porsche Blogging! What I Gained and Learned from Running This Blog
公開日:2022.06.30

I started this Porsche blog exactly five years ago.
Back in June 2017, just a few months after my second daughter was born, I casually launched this blog. At the time, I never imagined it would grow into a blog read by so many people five years later.
So today, on this five-year milestone, I want to look back on the journey of running this blog and share what I’ve gained along the way.

A Stronger Heart from Running the Blog
I’ve been asked several times, “Mina, you already had some knowledge about cars before you started the blog, right?”
But in reality, I started this blog with almost no knowledge about Porsche or cars at all. Because of that, the early posts on this blog are laughably shallow (lol).
Looking back, I wonder how I even thought I could write a Porsche blog with so little knowledge… ignorance really is scary, isn’t it? lol
Since I started this blog casually, there were many times when negative comments almost broke my spirit as the blog grew.
Back then, I would get upset even over comments pointing out mechanical mistakes, and if someone criticized our lifestyle or way of thinking, I’d spend the whole day worrying about it.
Each time, my husband would say:
Behind those comments, there are a hundred times more people supporting you. As your blog becomes more well-known, you’ll naturally get all kinds of opinions. That’s not a bad thing—it’s proof your blog is becoming influential. Don’t worry about it; just stick to your stance and write the articles you want to write.
His advice helped me a lot.
Now, no matter what comments come in, I don’t really get bothered anymore (though lately, those kinds of comments have almost disappeared), and I feel my heart has grown much stronger through running this blog.
This is one of the best things that came from starting the blog.
Small Triggers Can Change Your Life
Looking back now, what stands out is that “small triggers can change your life dramatically” and “all experiences are connected.”
Five years ago, my husband said, “If you love the Panamera that much, why not write a blog about it?” I replied, “No one would read it anyway.” But the very next day, I set up this blog on Hatena Blog.
If I had said, “No one will read it, it’s too much trouble, so let’s just forget it” and ended the conversation there, I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today.
Of course, it’s because we kept improving and persevering after launching the blog that we’ve come this far, but I truly feel that whether or not you act on that first small trigger can change your life dramatically.
Also, my experience in my 20s running a company and building an in-house media from scratch was a big help (even though that media didn’t succeed in the end… lol).
I thought, “Compared to building in-house media, setting up a blog is easy,” so I was able to move quickly.
I’ve made countless mistakes and have many bitter memories I’d rather forget, but those experiences led me to this Porsche blog.
Everything is connected. Nothing is wasted.
That’s another lesson this blog has taught me.
Five years since launching the blog, and the next five years ahead…
When we reach the blog’s 10th anniversary, I want to be able to say, “It turned out to be an even more exciting journey than I could have ever imagined back then.”
From now on, I’ll keep going with “Don’t think. Just do!” (only those who get it will understand lol).
To all the readers who have supported me, thank you so much. And I look forward to your continued support.
