What Is the Porsche Experience Center?
On Monday, July 29, 2021, it was finally announced that Japan will become the 9th country in the world to open a Porsche Experience Center this October.
The Porsche Experience Center is a facility where you can fully immerse yourself in the Porsche brand and cars. It features a Porsche restaurant, a shop selling Porsche goods, racing simulators, and both on-road and off-road driving courses—allowing anyone to experience driving a Porsche.
In fact, my husband and I have visited the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles (PECLA), and we were deeply impressed by the facility. So naturally, we’re very excited about the new Porsche Experience Center Tokyo.
What Is the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo Like?
The Porsche Experience Center Tokyo is located in Kisarazu, Japan. The site covers 43 hectares and features a 2.1 km-long track.
What’s more, this Experience Center takes advantage of the terrain to offer the world’s first 3D-structured course. It even includes corners that replicate the Nürburgring Nordschleife’s “Carousel” and Laguna Seca’s “Corkscrew,” so expectations are high. I especially want to try the corner modeled after Laguna Seca’s “Corkscrew.”
There’s also an off-road area for off-road driving experiences and a drift circle. Inside the facility, you can enjoy meals at the “Restaurant 906” and the café “Cafe 956”.
Additionally, there’s a simulator lab where you can virtually experience driving on some of the world’s most famous race tracks.

Prices range from ¥44,000 to ¥104,500 for a 90-minute private lesson, depending on the model. When making our reservation, we struggled to choose which cars to drive. Since both my wife and I have already experienced the performance of the 911 and Boxster at driving schools many times, I decided to book the “Rear-Wheel Drive vs. All-Wheel Drive” program, and my wife chose the “Mid-Engine vs. Rear-Engine” program.
These programs use two cars each: the 911 Carrera S and Carrera 4 to understand the difference in drivetrain, and the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and 911 Carrera to explore the differences between mid-engine and rear-engine layouts.
How to Make a Reservation at Porsche Experience Center Tokyo
Making a reservation is very simple. After registering as a user, you select your date, time, and car model, then complete payment by credit card.

Selecting a driving program

Choosing number of participants, date, and time

Selecting the program (car model)

Entering driver’s name and agreeing to terms and conditions

Option to add a peace-of-mind package limiting your liability for damages to ¥200,000. We chose to include it.
From here, just add the program to your cart, pay by credit card, and you’re done.
At the time of writing, Saturdays were fairly booked, but there was still plenty of availability on weekdays. If you’re interested, why not try making a reservation?
