A Place of Pilgrimage for Porsche Fans

I recently wrote about visiting the Porsche Museum, but my husband and I actually went to the museum in Germany about three years ago. While casually scrolling through old photos on my phone, I came across a whole collection from that trip—so today, I thought I’d share a few.

The Porsche Museum is in Stuttgart, a city in southwestern Germany. Porsche’s headquarters are there, too. (The photo shows the Porsche headquarters building.)

The museum is closed on Mondays and open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. One of the main ways to get there is to take an ICE train from Frankfurt Airport to Stuttgart Central Station, then continue by local train. The trip takes about two hours.

Driving from Frankfurt to Stuttgart on the Autobahn takes about the same amount of time as traveling by train.

Opened in 2009, the museum felt beautifully modern and bright, with a sleek white interior. Visitors could also take Porsche models out for test drives, and tourists were lining up for their turn.

Dedicated Porsche fans will probably recognize these cars at a glance and know exactly which model is which. I’m not quite that knowledgeable, so I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Ah… this really makes me want to go back to Germany!
