Porsche has unveiled a new Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 RS (992).

This kit is designed to further enhance track performance, featuring a wide range of improvements including aerodynamic efficiency, suspension optimization, and brake performance upgrades.

Developed through close collaboration between Porsche’s Weissach Development Center and Manthey engineers, these track-focused components will be available through Porsche Centers.

While the release date for Japan is still undecided, the kit carries a hefty price tag starting at €76,911 (approximately 12.3 million yen).

Over 1 Ton of Downforce at 285 km/h

The standout feature of the Manthey kit is its significantly upgraded aerodynamic parts.

The front spoiler lip has been enlarged and reinforced with carbon fiber elements. Additionally, two dive planes are mounted on each side of the front bumper to increase downforce on the front axle.

The rear window is replaced with a carbon fiber panel that is 25% lighter and fitted with a shark fin derived from the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 963 race car, aimed at improving cornering stability. Combined with six additional roof fins, this setup channels warm exhaust air from the front radiator outward and directs cool intake air to the rear even under extreme driving conditions.

The split carbon fiber DRS wing elements, paired with larger redesigned endplates, increase downforce on the rear axle. Furthermore, the significantly enlarged rear diffuser enhances downforce without adding drag.

Together, these aerodynamic components generate over 1,000 kg of downforce at 285 km/h, enabling higher speeds through high- and medium-speed corners while maximizing vehicle stability.

Semi-Active Coilover Suspension

To handle the increased downforce, the spring rates of the semi-active coilover suspension have been adjusted, with a 30% increase at the front axle and 15% at the rear axle.

Equipped with four wheel sensors, three body acceleration sensors, and a newly developed control unit, the system enables faster and more precise automatic damper adjustments than ever before. The new shock absorbers feature separate valves for compression and rebound stages, controlled independently. This allows precise tuning to changing driving conditions and road surfaces, maximizing stability on the track.

Different parameter sets are available for driving modes (Normal, Sport, Track), allowing changes to the basic damper characteristics. In Track mode, the steering wheel’s rotary control lets drivers manually fine-tune the setup to their personal preferences.

Racing Brake Pads Optimized for Track Use

The Manthey kit’s brake components are tailored to meet the demands of track driving. Steel-braided brake lines provide a more direct pedal feel and quicker response times.

For vehicles equipped with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), optional racing brake pads are available. These pads are specially developed for track use, suppressing fade while enhancing response and control precision.

These brake pads deliver consistent performance across a wide temperature range and offer excellent wear resistance for both the pads and discs.

A Wide Range of Accessories to Express Your Personality

For Porsche owners seeking a more visually striking look, a variety of sporty accessories are available to customize the 911 GT3 RS. These include illuminated carbon fiber door sill guards with red and white Manthey logos, LED door projectors with white Manthey logos, and various colored decals for carbon “Aero Discs” that emphasize the 911 GT3 RS’s unique character.

Additionally, the car doors can be personalized with the Manthey logo in neodymium, white, or black colors.
Tow hooks for track use are also available and can be mounted on the front or rear. They come in red, black, or yellow and are attached using appropriate screw holes at both ends.

Significant Performance Gains on the Track

Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister commented on the Manthey kit:

“The Manthey kit significantly enhances the 911 GT3 RS’s performance on the track, especially noticeable in medium-speed corners. The car experiences less dive, pitch, and roll, providing a more stable aerodynamic platform. As a result, the high downforce remains very consistent under all driving conditions.”

Nicolas Reder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, added:
“For two years, we worked closely with Porsche engineers to develop the new Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 RS, conducting thousands of kilometers of testing at circuits across Europe and the Nürburgring Nordschleife. According to our data, lap times are expected to improve significantly compared to the standard 911 GT3 RS. Although weather conditions have so far prevented us from recording an official lap time at the Nordschleife, we are determined to achieve this on the next opportunity.”

The Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 RS is now available for order. It will be available in the EU market from January 2025 and in non-EU markets from March 2025. Importantly, fitting this kit does not affect the manufacturer’s warranty on the 911 GT3 RS.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS already pushes track performance to the limit, but with the introduction of this Manthey kit, its capabilities are elevated to an even higher level. For Porsche enthusiasts who enjoy track driving, this kit will be a major attraction. It perfectly embodies Porsche’s philosophy of infusing pure motorsport technology into a road-legal car.
