The Ultimate Leather Seat Cleaner: “Easy Wipe”

Previously, while touring with my younger brother in a 911 Dakar, he mentioned an unbeatable leather seat cleaner.
My brother isn’t the type to wash or maintain his car actively, but he was unusually enthusiastic about this cleaner, saying he’s bought several bottles over the years. He kept insisting, “You absolutely have to get this too!” So, I decided to give it a try and will share my review here.
Leather Cleaner “Easy Wipe”
The product my brother recommended is called “Easy Wipe”, made by a company named SSK Protect.
Their website offers surprisingly detailed explanations and insights, which often signals a trustworthy brand.
When my brother was driving a Maserati, a sales representative told him, “Actually, the dealer uses this product, and it’s really good.”
Curious about what made it so special, I asked. He explained that not only does it remove dirt effectively, but after use, even leather that has become shiny and sticky over time feels smooth and soft again—almost like new.
Skeptical but intrigued, I decided to order some and give it a shot.
Testing on My Car’s Seats and Steering Wheel
About 4-5 days after ordering, the Easy Wipe arrived.
I immediately tried it on the seats of my 992 Carrera Cabriolet.
Since the seats are in Mojave Beige, dirt tends to show easily. Although they weren’t heavily soiled, the driver’s seat had some faint darkening and a few spots, so I decided to test it there.
There was some stubborn dirt on the seat cushion, and I wondered if it would really come off. I cleaned it following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Before cleaning. Dirt visible inside the red circle. Light rubbing with a damp cloth didn’t remove it.

After cleaning. The dirt is completely gone.

Seat after cleaning. It’s hard to tell in photos, but in reality, the seat looks noticeably brighter and the dullness is gone.
Surprised by how well it removed dirt, I then tried it on the steering wheel of my air-cooled Porsche 964.
Although I occasionally wipe it with Porsche’s official cleaner and conditioner, the steering wheel is over 30 years old and has become shiny and slick to the touch.

I forgot to take a before photo of the shift knob, but it became very clean and the feel of this area changed dramatically.
My Impressions of Easy Wipe
At around 4,000 yen, this cleaner isn’t cheap, but I believe it’s well worth the price.
It requires almost no effort—just moisten the leather with a damp towel, then wipe it down with a towel sprayed with the cleaner.
That’s all it takes to noticeably improve both the feel and appearance, removing dullness and dirt from the seats.
Even as an amateur applying it casually, the results were obvious. Someone more skilled and patient could probably achieve even better results.
If you want to see more clear examples of its effectiveness, here’s a helpful blog post:

I believe that with regular maintenance using Easy Wipe, you can keep Porsche interiors—especially beige tones, Bordeaux Red, Slate Gray, and other colors prone to showing dirt—looking pristine. I highly recommend it for those owners.
Personally, I think Easy Wipe is the most effective leather cleaner I’ve ever used.
If you’re looking for a leather cleaner, why not give it a try?
