Driving a Porsche at Home! I Bought Assetto Corsa for PS4.

My Husband’s Daily Racing Game Practice

Almost every day, my husband immerses himself in car racing games on his PlayStation 4 or Xbox.

He’s quite serious about it, having purchased a driving setup like the one in the picture, allowing him to practice with a sensation almost akin to driving a real car.

The other day, he suddenly announced, “I bought Assetto Corsa!” I couldn’t help but ask,

“Wait, what? Why the rush? What got you so worked up (*_*)?”

It turns out, Assetto Corsa is a PS4 racing game known for its challenging and realistic driving dynamics, offering a genuine racing experience.

This game is renowned for being more difficult and realistic than other racing games, providing a truly authentic driving thrill. While it takes time to get used to, it offers a level of enjoyment that other games can’t match.

When I asked why he bought it, he said, “Because it has a lot of Porsche models available.” Apparently, he rarely drives anything other than Porsche in games, and isn’t even interested in trying other brands. He’s truly a Porsche enthusiast… haha. Just look at the extensive list of Porsche models available.

Even the Cayenne is included—impressive!

He tried running the Panamera Turbo on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and managed to clock in at 8 minutes and 20 seconds. (The real Panamera Turbo’s Nürburgring record is 7 minutes and 38 seconds)

“It’s tough to get a good time with the Panamera. The gap between 2nd and 3rd gear is too wide. I really need to practice seriously! But honestly, where am I heading with all this practice?”

He muttered to himself, but even he doesn’t know the answer, so how could I, his wife, possibly know? (-_-)

“But you already have Gran Turismo and other games, and now Assetto Corsa too… aren’t all racing games pretty much the same?” I asked him, to which he replied, “No, they’re completely different!”

He then went on to explain the unique features of the four racing games he currently owns.

① Features of Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition (PS4)

In Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition, you can drive an impressive 28 different Porsche models.

911 Carrera RSR, 718 Spyder RS, 911 GT1, 919 Hybrid 2015, 962C Long tail, 962C Short tail, 991 Carrera S, Cayenne Turbo S, Panamera Turbo, 718 Boxster S MT, 917 30, 718 Boxster S pdk, 718 Cayman S, 935 78Moby Dick, 911 GT3 RS, 918 Spyder, Cayman GT4 std, Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Macan Turbo, 991 Turbo S, 919 Hybrid 2016, 917 K, 911 R, 911 GT3 R 2016, 911 GT3 Cup 2017, 908 LH, 911 GT3 RSR 2017

As for its features:

① Dynamics and Feel… The sensation transmitted through the steering is incredibly realistic. The brakes and accelerator feel close to a real car. It’s amazing.
② Graphics… Compared to other software, the graphics aren’t as polished. There’s quite a noticeable difference.
③ Engine Sounds… They are relatively close to reality.
④ Gameplay… There’s no photo mode, and the replay visuals are quite basic.
⑤ Other… It’s a pure simulator software. Don’t expect game-like entertainment. For those who want to race seriously, this is it. It’s a pity there are no Japanese circuits.

That’s what he said.
