Driving a Porsche at Home! I Bought Assetto Corsa for PS4.

Porsche Trivia

② Features of Gran Turismo Sport (PS4)

In Gran Turismo Sport, you can drive 6 Porsche models.

911 GT3 RS (991), Cayman GT4 Clubsport, 911 RSR (991), 919 Hybrid, 911 GT3 (996) ’01, 911 GT3 (997) ’08

Unfortunately, the Panamera isn’t included. As for its features:

① Dynamics and Feel… It’s refined and easy to control, making it smooth to drive. However, it’s almost too smooth, lacking the vibrations and rawness of a real car. The brakes are hard to adjust, feeling more like an ON/OFF switch, making subtle adjustments difficult (opposite to the real Porsche brakes)
② Graphics… Extremely beautiful. By far the most stunning.
③ Engine Sounds… Some models sound close to the real thing, but overall, the sound is a bit light.
④ Gameplay… The photo mode and replay visuals are comprehensive and very realistic. With a large user base, online races are frequently held, making it enjoyable. However, in single-player mode, the AI opponents are too slow, making it less exciting.
⑤ Other… You can drive in VR. There are plenty of Japanese circuits, including Suzuka, Fuji, and Tsukuba. But there aren’t enough Porsches!!

Indeed, there are too few Porsches.

③ Features of Project Cars2 (PS4)

In Project Cars2, you can drive 11 Porsche models.

1979 935/80, 1977 935/77, 1977 936 SPYDER, 1987 962C, 1988 962C LANGHECK, 1998 911 GT1-98, 2016 911 GT3 R, 2016 911 GT3 R ENDURANCE, 2016 CAYMAN GT4 CLUBSPORT MR, 2015 918 SPYDER, 2016 911 GT3 RS

You can drive not only the latest models but also classic Porsches. Additional models can be added by purchasing the “PORSCHE LEGENDS PACK.”

1971 908/03 Spyder, 1971 917K, 1972 917/10, 1973 911 Carrera RSR 2.8, 1978 935/78, 1981 935/78-81

Purchasing the “PORSCHE LEGENDS PACK” also includes the Porsche On-road Circuit Leipzig, a test track adjacent to the Porsche Leipzig factory.

This is the only game where you can drive this course. It’s a thrilling track, created by combining corners from famous circuits worldwide, offering a highly engaging driving experience.

As for its features:

① Dynamics and Feel… It’s closer to reality than Gran Turismo but falls just short of Assetto Corsa. Still, it’s plenty enjoyable.
② Graphics… I think they’re quite nice. There’s not much of a disconnect.
③ Engine Sounds… The sound quality is good, but overall, the sound is a bit low and lacks impact.
④ Gameplay… You can freely set the AI opponent levels in single-player mode, allowing for exciting races against fast opponents.
⑤ Other… There are plenty of courses, from city streets to famous circuits. However, it’s a shame Suzuka isn’t included.(There’s a course that feels like Suzuka)

That’s what he said. I wonder what a Suzuka-like course is like, haha.

④ Features of Forza Motorsport 7 (Xbox)

This is for Xbox, not PS, but in Forza Motorsport 7, you can drive 38 Porsche models (including DLC and updates).

2019 911 GT3 RS, 2018 911 GT2 RS, 2018 Cayenne Turbo, 2017 #92 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR, 2017 Panamera Turbo, 2017 #19 Porsche Team 919 Hybrid, 2016 911 GT3 RS [991.2], 2016 Cayman GT4, 2015 Macan Turbo, 2015 #19 Porsche Team 919 Hybrid, 2014 918 Spyder, 2014 911 Turbo S [991], 2012 911 GT2 RS [997], 2012 911 GT3 RS 4.0 [997], 2012 Cayenne Turbo, 2011 #45 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR, 2008 #7 Penske Racing RS Spyder Evo, 2004 911 GT3 [996], 2003 Carrera GT, 1998 911 GT1 Strassenversion, 1995 911 GT2 [993], 1993 911 Turbo S Leichtbau, 1993 928 GTS, 1989 944 Turbo, 1987 959, 1987 #17 Porsche AG 962c, 1987 #17 Porsche Dunlop 962c, 1982 911 Turbo 3.3, 1980 924 Carrera GTS, 1978 #78 MOMO 935/78, 1973 911 Carrera RS, 1964 904 Carrera GTS, 1970 914/6, 1966 906 Carrera 6, 1971 #23 917/20, 1962 804, 1960 718 RS 60, 1957 356A Speedster, 1955 550A Spyder

That’s a lot… ((;゚Д゚))!

With so many options, it’s hard to keep track… but Porsche fans probably know them all. As for its features:

① Dynamics and Feel… There’s an effort to make it realistic, but overall it’s a bit rough. Personally, I find it the hardest to control. I often think, “The brakes should work better,” or “It shouldn’t understeer or oversteer this much.”
② Graphics… Very beautiful. It rivals Gran Turismo. The details of the cars are meticulously crafted.
③ Engine Sounds… Quite good. Enjoyable, but Assetto Corsa is closer to the real thing.
④ Gameplay… AI opponents often crash into you at the first corner, and there’s constant contact in corners. It’s almost impossible to drive normally. It feels like a game where you push others aside to compete for positions. So, I only do time attacks.
⑤ Other… The visuals are beautiful, and there are plenty of courses and car models, but overall it’s a bit rough and American. There are many events and races featuring classic American cars, and it has a vibe of competing for positions by going full throttle, which might appeal to some.

That’s what he said.

Overall Evaluation

Among all the cars he’s driven, the most enjoyable experience is “Driving the ‘1973 911 Carrera RSR 2.8’ in Project Cars2 using a manual shifter.” It seems he could drive endlessly.

As for his personal recommendations:

Assetto CorsaProject Cars2 > Gran Turismo SPORTS > Forza7

For those seeking a more realistic driving experience, Assetto Corsa might be the perfect fit. If I can drive the Nürburgring in a Panamera Turbo, maybe I’ll give it a try too (though it might take me over 10 minutes)
