Porsche Festival Celebrating Porsche’s 75th Anniversary|Can We Join Too?

Porsche Festival
This year marks Porsche’s 75th anniversary.
To celebrate, a press release was issued in February announcing “Porsche Festival,” one of Asia’s largest community events hosted by Porsche Japan, taking place from Saturday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 4th.
At that time, the venue was still undecided, so my husband and I made some guesses about where it might be held.
On June 3rd and 4th, the Super GT race is held at Suzuka Circuit. Since the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) usually runs as a support race, maybe the Porsche Festival would also be at Suzuka.
But Super GT draws huge crowds and the parking gets really crowded… so holding a Porsche-only event there might be impossible.
How about Fuji Speedway? Looking at Fuji Speedway’s June schedule, there don’t seem to be any events or races planned yet, so maybe it’s still being arranged.
Most Porsche Japan events so far have been held at Fuji Speedway, so it’s probably going to be there after all.
We were chatting back and forth like this, but…
When the press release announcing the venue was finally published recently, our predictions were completely off — it said the event would be held at “PEC (Porsche Experience Center) Tokyo” (laughs).
It’s described as one of Asia’s largest community events, but the PEC Tokyo parking lot isn’t that big, so it seems impossible to accommodate a large crowd… I wonder how they’ll handle applications? Curious, I checked the website and found:
“Please wait for applications to open after April. Anyone can apply.”
Since it says “apply,” I guess there will be a lottery… The event is free to attend (just cover your own travel expenses), so I imagine quite a few people will apply.

On the day, special cars will be on display and special content will be offered.
We participated in the 2018 event celebrating Porsche’s 70th anniversary, the Porsche Experience Day,

and also joined the “Porsche Sportscar Together Day 2019” held the following year.
Both were impressive events featuring displays of new and classic cars, watching PCCJ (Carrera Cup Japan) races, e-sports race viewing, and participation in parade runs.

In addition, we enjoyed admiring the amazing cars brought by the participants,

and even got to meet some of our blog readers, which was a lot of fun.
Four years have passed since then, and now it’s Porsche’s 75th anniversary. We plan to apply for the Porsche Festival, but since I’m not lucky with lotteries, I probably won’t win… lol.
If we do get in, we hope to attend as a family and meet many of our blog readers who can come on the day.
