I Got to Ride in a Lamborghini Huracán

Counting Down to Panamera Turbo Delivery Day…
Our Panamera is due to arrive on Thursday, October 12. How do you count down to a day like that? Is it three days away if you count today, or two days away because the day after tomorrow is the big day?
…Well, never mind.
Yesterday, my husband and H, a friend who’s been kind to both of us, headed out to the Royu Driveway. H’s pride and joy is a Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4. Come to think of it, when H first bought the Huracán, he brought it over to our place, and we took both cars to the Royu Driveway. I got to ride in the passenger seat for a little while then, too.
The Lamborghini’s engine was incredibly loud, and people kept turning to look at us as we drove by. I was so embarrassed—and people were taking pictures left and right. I’d never been photographed that much before, so I thought, “If I’d known, I would’ve made sure my makeup was perfect…” (They were only taking pictures of the car; I had nothing to do with it.)
A Ride in the Huracán
I climbed into the passenger seat, and we set off with the windows all the way down. Eager to make the most of the chance, I peppered H with questions. But with the windows open, we had to shout to hear each other.
Me: “The car feels really light. Do you know how much it weighs? Less than 1.5 tonnes?”
H: “You’re the first person who’s asked me about the weight… I wonder how much it is… Sorry, I don’t know!”
Me: “It feels so different from a Porsche. Oh, you used to own a Porsche a while back, right? Is the difference really that noticeable?”
H: “Hmm, sorry… That was quite a while ago, so I don’t really remember!”
Me: “It feels light, but it still has a solid connection to the road. Though that road feel is different from a Porsche, too.”
H: “What!? I can’t hear you! What did you say!?”
…
…And that was the end of our conversation.
Maybe H isn’t all that interested in cars themselves? He told me he bought the Huracán because “it was a car I’d dreamed of owning since I was a kid. I worked hard and always knew I wanted to make that dream come true one day.” From H’s point of view, I must have been a nuisance, asking question after question while he was enjoying the drive.
Sorry about that…
Anyway, just three days (or two!) to go until our Panamera Turbo arrives!
