When this car was originally ordered, the wheels dared to be the stock 19/20 inch Carrera wheels. The reasons for this were.

1) Expectations for ride comfort due to light weight, an advantage of small-diameter wheels

(3) Balanced with smaller brake discs compared to S

It was for three reasons.

Regarding (1), I have since found that there is not much difference in ride quality between 19/20" and 20/21" in various 992s. And for (3), I came to think that the basic Carrera does not have red calipers, so I don't feel that much scuffiness even with 20/21".

I've often wondered about this with PCCBed individuals and without.Light under-spring gives the impression of bouncing at slightly lower speedsIn some cases, the heavier the spring, the more comfortable the ride is. When we took the car to a mountain road for testing, we got the impression that the 19/20-inch wheels were a little more nimble, as expected. In particular, I feel a slight difference in response and agility when stepping on the accelerator pedal. However, it is not noticeable without direct comparison or being told, and I already feel no sense of discrepancy.

Handling and cornering characteristics are basically the same. The difference here seems to be more due to tire brand than wheel size.

My impression on the highway is thatSo far 19/20" feels more comfortable to ride.With 19/20-inch wheels, the faster you go, the flatter they feel and the more the unevenness of the road surface disappears, giving the sensation that you are driving on a smooth surface, but with 20/21-inch wheels, you do not feel this sensation as much.

However, this seems to be mostly influenced by the brand of tires.

The 19/20-inch was equipped with Pirelli PZERO (Porsche-approved NA0), but the 20/21-inch is Goodyear's EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 (Porsche-approved NA0).

Goodyear's EAGLE F1 was once installed on my new 981 Boxster GTS, and my impression of it was not so good. The grip on wet roads was excellent, even better than Michelin, I thought. However, there were a lot of micro and non-periodic vibrations, such as knocks and pulls at high speeds, and I immediately asked the dealer if I could use the EAGLE F1.Is there something wrong with the wheel balance?I was even asked to look at it as "the best of the best.

After all.Then I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, which dramatically improved the ride and made it glide on the highway!Remember.

    Wow, you changed the wheels to 20/21 ❗My 992 Carrera, Aventurine Green, was set to the standard 19/20 with much reference to Hiro's article. It was for comfort & to avoid the scuffing feeling. Other motor journalists made similar comments. I am very satisfied with my car after driving it for about 11,000 km in 1 year and 4 months. By the way, Michelin PS4S tires came with the car. Well, the ride quality is not so different. If I were to replace them, I think I would prefer Spyder wheels. But still, it is possible to get used genuine 20/21 wheels⁉️.

      There's a glimpse of them in online auctions and such.
      Frankly, I don't see much difference in inches when I replace it.

      More importantly, the tires seemed to make a big difference.
      I guess Michelin is good.
      I have been on the 992 Michelin several times and they were all great.
      I will replace it soon ^_^.

    I currently have a 992 Carrera on hold, but have been told there is a 2 year wait. It has the shark blue body and standard wheels, but I am plotting to paint it Cayenne Turbo GT neodymium, as the dealer will do the wheel painting for me.
    I don't think most Porsche owners like colored cars, but I admire cars with spectacular colors.

    My 992/C4 has EAGLE F1 on Carrera Classic wheels, so I looked for PS4S, but I can't seem to get the rear 305/30/21 certified.

    There is an M01 certification for Mercedes, but I think the 245/35/20 front tire was developed for other than the 992, although it has an N0 certification.

    I have not had a good impression of Pirelli in the past, but do you have a better impression of P-ZERO than EAGLE F1?

    My impression of Pirelli in the past was that the sidewalls were hard, the handlebars got caught in ruts, and the rain was slippery. But

    I would be happy to learn more about that.

      Tires seem to be in short supply everywhere right now.
      I had the same impression of Pirelli, but I think they are very good from the NA0 standard (PZ4) for the 992.
      I think it's at least better than Goodyear and closer to Michelin.
      I was PZERO when I had 19/20" and had no complaints at all. However, I feel that the Goodyear has better grip in the wet.

    Do you usually put 911 in a mechanical parking garage?
    I am currently considering a 911, and when I looked at the mechanical parking lots in my neighborhood, the minimum ground clearance limit was 120 mm. The tire outside width limit was 1850 mm, so it looks like it will be just fine, but I am doubtful about the ground clearance.
    If you do have access to a mechanical parking garage, we would like to know with reference to the parking dimensions, etc., that were available for entry.

      We do put the 911 in a mechanical parking garage on occasion, but it happens.
      Basically, I've never been concerned about ground clearance in the environments I go to.
      With the GT3, there was some faint rubbing of the rear diffuser,
      If it's a Carrera type, my experience is that I completely disregard ground clearance.
      In case you are wondering, we use a width of at least 1900mm.
      At 1850mm, our 911 Carrera 4GTS is a bit risky because of its wide body, so we avoid it.
