Main Topics and Details
1. PADM Failures in 981 and 991 Models [03:39]
- PADM (Active Engine Mount) often fails in 981, 991, 718 models, etc.
- Repairs cost over 500,000 yen, so many opt to replace with standard mounts
- In that case, coding changes are needed to clear error messages
- For 981 and 718, since it’s integrated with the transmission mount, suspension removal and alignment checks are also required
- Because it’s expensive and fails frequently, extended warranty coverage is recommended
2. Taycan Battery’s Natural Discharge [17:32]
- Even after about two weeks of no use, natural discharge is minimal
- Driving over 200 km once a week is fine, with weekly fast charging sufficient
- Currently, home charging equipment is being replaced, so charging at home isn’t possible, but fast charging at the dealer works fine
3. Tesla Model 3 Delivery Update [44:21]
- Ordered on March 3rd, expected registration by May 10th. Delivery is faster compared to Porsche
- Price reductions during the process are applied to the new price
- In addition to an 850,000 yen subsidy, additional subsidies are available in Tokyo
- Planning to sell the GLB soon to coincide with Tesla’s arrival, selling at Rokko Garage
4. Differences Between Taycan and Tesla [49:50]
- The driving feel is completely different between Taycan’s 4WD and 2WD models
- Tesla focuses on comfort and practicality while stationary, creating an office-like environment inside the car
- If people over 60 drive a Tesla instead of a Prius, Japan’s traffic safety would improve
- Tesla monitors all surroundings with cameras, so left-hand drive is not an issue
- For EVs, charging speed and infrastructure are more important than driving range
