Voices from Readers Who Fulfilled Their Dream of Buying a Porsche

Three Years of the Porsche Blog
I started this Porsche blog in June 2017, and before I knew it, nearly three years have passed. It doesn’t feel like that long, but the fact that my youngest daughter, who was just a few months old back then, is now old enough to start kindergarten this spring really shows how time flies.
I’ve written before about how things were when I first started this blog—back then, daily visits were in the single digits, and it felt like “clearly only my husband and I were reading it lol”. But now, so many of you read this blog every day, and I’m filled with gratitude.
Thank you truly, from the bottom of my heart.
Over these three years, I’ve received many messages saying “I bought a Porsche after reading this blog.” We’re just sharing our experiences and thoughts, and it’s you who made the effort and decisions, but receiving these messages always makes me so happy.
The excitement and joy come through in their words, and it motivates me too, thinking “I haven’t fulfilled my dream yet, so I’ll keep trying!”
So today, I’d like to share some of the messages from readers who have fulfilled their dream of buying a Porsche, excerpted and edited for you.
Messages Received on the Porsche Blog
911 / Mr. K
Hello! I look forward to your blog updates every day. Thanks to this blog, I was able to achieve my childhood dream, and today I took delivery of my first Porsche (992 left-hand drive!) after waiting 9 months. I gained a lot of information here, but more than anything, I got the courage to buy. Thank you so much.
Boxster S / Mr. K
Nice to meet you. I always enjoy and find your blog very interesting. Recently, I messaged you about my dilemma deciding whether to get the base model or the S for my long-awaited 981 Boxster purchase. Finally, last weekend, I decided on a “981S, MY16, PDK, Jet Black”! It was a long journey.
I had never agonized so much over choosing a car before. It was exhausting (lol), but I feel so relieved now.
If all goes well, delivery should be by the end of this month. I’m itching to drive it.
Panamera / Ms. Y
Hello, nice to meet you. I took the plunge to contact you. My car-loving husband took me to the Porsche Center, and I was overwhelmed by its exceptional presence at first glance. By the second visit, I was completely captivated by Porsche. Until now, I had been driving a Vitz left by my father. But now, I’ve made a big decision and will be welcoming a Panamera into our family. Delivery is today at 2 PM.
Porsche is truly a modern fighter jet. If the driver handles it incorrectly, it could be dangerous. So I vow to always drive safely.
Panamera / Ms. M
This is my first time contacting you. I live in Sapporo. I always enjoy reading your blog and admire your husband’s boldness! In October 2018, our first Porsche, a Panamera 4S, became a member of our family. The description of it as a “luxurious yet agile and dynamic 4-seater sports car” is no exaggeration or lie—it’s exactly right. That feeling hasn’t changed since delivery day.
Boxster Spyder / Mr. D
I always enjoy reading your blog. My passion for Porsche grew so much from reading it that I finally decided to buy one seriously (lol). Thanks to you, my 981 Spyder was delivered recently, and I’m enjoying every moment.
That said, when I was buying the 981 Spyder, I was torn between keeping my Abarth 124 Spider as a second car or trading it in. In the end, I couldn’t afford both, and since it would have been more of an expense than an investment, I chose to sell it.
They say “chasing two rabbits catches neither,” but borrowing your husband’s words, I think those with enough passion and determination might one day catch both.
I’m thinking of taking my wife for a drive on the Royu Driveway soon. I look forward to meeting you again someday.
Panamera / Mr. K
I always enjoy reading your blog. I became a proud Porsche owner in April. People around me kept saying it was inappropriate for a company employee, but I ended up owning a used Porsche. Since we live nearby, I often nod along reading about local topics like Royu.
Cayman / Mr. T
First time commenting. Let me start by thanking you. I vowed to buy a Porsche someday and have been reading your blog daily, learning from your husband’s comments and Porsche insights.
I constantly imagine Porsche images in my head and on my phone, and finally, I was able to order a 718 Cayman GTS with all the options I wanted in the July production slot. I’m truly grateful to this blog for helping me get here. Thank you so much. It really shows that if you work hard and never give up, dreams can come true.
Your recent post about the Royu Driveway reminded me of when I was 24, practicing driving techniques in my Honda Integra TYPE-R while taking my girlfriend to see the night view. The air gets crisp and the view is beautiful in the cold. Though I do remember her yelling at me a lot back then.
I’m looking forward to driving the Royu Driveway again after delivery. I’m about to have the best 40th birthday (lol). I’ll keep enjoying your blog and cheering you on.
Panamera / Mr. J
I always enjoy your blog! I recently took delivery and am really feeling the greatness of the Panamera. I’m still in the break-in period, so haven’t pushed it yet, but the car itself is truly amazing! Even the engine ignition sound of the base Panamera excites me—it’s really fun to drive.
Mina-san wrote about the size earlier this year, but actually driving it made me realize just how big it is! It’s not noticeable while driving, but parking always makes me think, “Wow, this is huge!” I get nervous every time I park! I’m planning a drive during the September long weekend as part of the break-in, but I’m a bit concerned about parking at the hotel. I’ll refer to your husband’s national road maps and threads for the trip!
Panamera / Mr. K
I always enjoy reading your blog. I emailed before saying I wanted this kind of info. In the end, I bought a Panamera 4E Hybrid. I probably wouldn’t have bought it without this blog… Maybe the Porsche Center should pay Mina-san an advisor fee (lol).
I’m from the supercar boom generation, but I’m not very knowledgeable and don’t speed (probably the slowest Porsche driver). But I love cars.
It’s been two months since delivery, and I’m getting used to the size and enjoying it. Looking forward to more posts! I’m not very knowledgeable, so I learn a lot here.
Boxster / Ms. M
Nice to meet you. I always enjoy reading your blog. I was considering buying a 718 Boxster, and your blog was very helpful. I ended up choosing the 718 Boxster GTS. I’m scheduled to take delivery tomorrow (^^) Meeting this car was fate, and finding this blog was fate too. Your husband’s impressions were really helpful. Thank you very much (^^)
Panamera / Mr. T
I always read your blog and learn a lot ^_^ My uncle has a 1992 Carrera 2 Cabriolet, and I always thought I’d buy a Porsche someday. Recently, I ended up buying a 970S e-Hybrid. My first car being a Panamera is quite a bold debut (´Д`) I live about 30 minutes from Royu, so if there’s a chance, I’d love you to drive it and share your thoughts ^_^
What It Means to Buy a Porsche
I receive many messages and comments on the blog, and both my husband and I read each one carefully. Thank you so much. Regarding these Porsche purchase messages, my husband says:
It’s so great that so many people have bought Porsches. And they’re readers of our blog, which is wonderful. Simply put, I’m happy for their success. They probably worked harder and struggled more than most to get their cars.
In Japan, there’s an atmosphere where it’s hard to say “I bought a Porsche” or “I succeeded” or “I earned money.” But there’s nothing wrong with that. Economically, it means they’re circulating money and creating wealth, which is fantastic.
I really want to say from the bottom of my heart, “Congratulations!”
Currently, many people are facing significant impacts on their businesses and jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I myself have had all requests for the small-scale work I’ve been doing quietly for some time canceled over the past few months because of the virus.
Even after buying a Porsche, some may have to give it up due to maintenance costs, and I’ve heard of cases where orders were canceled. The path to fulfilling your dream is never smooth, but I want to live each day steadily aiming for the day I can buy a Porsche with my own strength.
Thank you to everyone who supports this blog. I look forward to your continued support.
After this, I wrote an article like this:
→At least 57 people bought a Porsche after reading this blog!
