Visiting a Porsche Owner’s Garage

The other day, I had the chance to visit the garage of one of my husband’s car friends. My husband had been there quite a while ago, and he showed me the amazing photos he took of the incredible cars, so I had been thinking, “I wish I could go too!” for a long time.

However,

I’m not personally close to this person, only my husband is… so I felt it might be presumptuous to say I wanted to come along. But I really wanted to see it at least once…

I kept hesitating.

I’m usually bold and act without thinking twice, but why do I get so timid in situations like this… ( -_- )

Then, recently, this person kindly invited my husband, saying, “Want to come see the garage again? Your wife is welcome too, if she’d like.” We gratefully accepted and visited as a family.

Cars in the Garage: Porsche, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce…

The garage we visited was as pristine as a foreign car showroom. Honestly, I thought it was even brighter and more spacious than the Porsche dealer we usually visit! (Sorry, Porsche dealer…)

Cars parked in the garage

It’s a shame the photos don’t fully capture the impact, but the garage was truly “breathtaking.” Almost every car there was a legendary or limited model that you can’t just buy on a whim, even if you wanted to.

The first thing that caught my eye was this:

Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S

My husband admires this car and says it’s something he’d “love to own someday.” It’s the Porsche 911 Turbo S we recently test drove. The body color is the new Python Green. Until now, I’d only seen Turbos in black, white, or silver, so this color was fresh and beautiful.

The black-painted “PORSCHE” logo on the rear is the owner’s personal touch—very stylish.

Next was a bright red Cayenne Coupe GTS. The owner fell in love with it at the Porsche Center showroom.

It’s sporty and very cool. Choosing a vivid body color really gives an SUV a strong sports car vibe. Being a coupe also adds to the difference—I thought it was completely different in atmosphere from our Cayenne.

Inside the garage were the 911 GT2 RS, 911 Speedster, Lamborghini Aventador, Rolls-Royce Dawn, and more…

Thanks to the owner’s kindness, the kids were invited to “sit in or touch the cars if they wanted,” but in the end, they didn’t. Maybe it was because I kept telling them from the moment we arrived, “Don’t touch anything! These cars are super expensive!” Sorry about that… ( -_- )

When we visited recently, there were eight cars in the garage, but the owner also keeps several vehicles in another parking lot, so the total number of cars owned is no less than 13. They own not only the latest models but also many air-cooled Porsches.

Amazing…!

My husband said,

There’s always someone above you. I still have a long way to go…

But the owner replied, “No, no, there are always people above me too.

Wow, what an incredible world…!

A Memorable Car: Nissan Figaro

Among the latest Porsches and Lamborghinis, one car stood out with a special presence—the Nissan Figaro.

Nissan Figaro

This car is about 30 years old and was originally bought by the owner for his mother. She maintained it carefully and kept driving it, but recently she surrendered her license, so the owner took the car back.

The Nissan Figaro has recently become very popular, but apparently, well-maintained examples are hard to find in Japan. (Good ones have mostly been exported overseas.)

It’s wonderful to keep driving a car your son bought you until you give up your license. If someday my son bought me a car, I’d treasure it and keep it for a very long time too.

And of course, the owner plans to continue cherishing and passing down this car.

The Owner’s Overflowing Love for Cars

The owner regularly drives these cars on the Royu Driveway and goes on drives and tours, so all the cars are kept spotless and in pristine condition.

He said, “I’ve loved cars since I was a kid,” and from the humidity and temperature control to dust prevention, you can feel his deep passion for cars throughout the garage.

Family’s Favorite Car?

I think there’s nothing wrong with owning luxury cars just for status, as everyone has their own values, but when you talk to someone who truly loves their cars themselves, it makes you feel very happy.

Above all, the cars all seemed happy, and the space had a wonderful, comfortable energy.

Finally, I asked, “Among all these cars, which one is your family’s favorite?

Well… my wife and kids aren’t interested in cars at all, so they don’t really know (laughs). That’s just how it is. I guess when the kids get their licenses and start driving, they’ll begin to understand.

Thank you so much to the owner for letting us see your amazing garage! Please let us visit again when you get a new car (laughs).
