911 Carrera Cabriolet delivered

The other day, the long-awaited 911 Cabriolet (992 model) was finally delivered. I ordered the car at the end of February this year, so it took about 7 months for delivery, but(in Japanese history)The sense of schedule from order to delivery is described here)."I guess it will be much slower due to Corona. The car was delivered earlier than we had expected.

Photo taken immediately after delivery to the dealer.

A friend of my husband's sent me this photo because he happened to see it at the dealership.

Many times in advance, the configurator will show the "aventurine green metallicI had seen the body color of the "Mere Old Man," but the actual color of the car was deeper and cooler than I had imagined. My husband, too.

I had a hard time deciding on the body color, but I'm glad I chose this color. I heard that it is quite popular overseas, but in Japan, there are not many people who choose it, and I like it because I don't see it around town. As someone who likes to be different, I am very satisfied. It's very austere and looks like an adult's 911. I feel that the color goes well with the plain (base grade) 911.

He said.

I would have loved to be there for the delivery of the car, but unfortunately there was no one available that day to babysit the car...Only my husband was able to pick up the 911 Cabriolet. If my oldest son were a little older, I would take him with me, but as expected, a newborn baby less than a month old is impossible...

So my husband took some pictures of the delivery of the car.

Since it is the Sport Design Package, the aero differs from the standard model.

I love the feeling of excitement and thrill before actually meeting my car. And thanks to the coating, the body is shining and very beautiful.

Later, my husband came home in his 911 Cabriolet. How does it feel to be on it?I asked.

Yeah, the suspension is surprisingly stiffer than I had imagined. It is much stiffer than the Boxster, and it even feels similar to the 991.2 GTS with cup tires that I had borrowed for a while. Well, the suspension and bushings are still a bit stiff, since the car has only been driven about 20km, and the air pressure is still low. And the air pressure is still too high, and the setting may not be comfort pressure. I'll see how I feel after riding it for a while.

This was the case.

I was able to take my daughters for a short ride in the back that day, and the ride was definitely much firmer than the 992 I had been allowed to test drive before. However, the ride was definitely very stiff compared to the 992 I had test-driven before. It is not uncomfortably hard, but rather has a grounding feeling, just like a sports car.I had a good feeling about it. I thought it had a good solidity, with a stout body and a strong suspension that captured the road surface and conveyed information about the road surface.

At least, it is not so hard that it is tiring to ride for a long time.

And over the next few days, my husband drove about 400 km on various roads, during which time he also adjusted the air pressure a bit and set the setting to comfort pressure.

It's totally changed!!!! It's so much better! Especially after about 300km, the chassis as a whole has lost its austerity and has become very supple. I could tell that this 992 was built with the air-cooled 911 in mind, not only in appearance, but also inside. I am beginning to understand the charms of this car that I could not understand in the short test drive.
Often, a little test drive of the 992 by a person who has911 has become as easy to drive as a passenger car, and it's no fun.I've seen some reviews that say that the car is going in a different direction from the 991, but at least from my own experience of having driven 400km since delivery, I agree with some of them, but I would say the opposite. They are clearly trying to take the car in a different direction from the 991. I think Porsche made the 992 because they didn't want to be called that every time. This is a proper 911. I could write a very long review.

I was so excited that I'm going to ask my husband to write a lengthy review afterwards (laughs).

Wish I could go for a mid-range drive when things settle down a little more!

Congratulations on the delivery of your car.
With the color of the top, it's a calm and mature 911, different from the Boxster.

I have seen that the interior was designed with the air-cooled 911 in mind, but only those who have driven various 911s would understand that the interior was also designed with the air-cooled 911 in mind. You're a good man, sir.

    • Mina.Mina.

      Yuke.
      Thank you!
Like you said, it's like a calm, mature 911.
I sometimes wonder if the cars would suit us better if we were older.

      >I have seen that the interior was designed with the air-cooled 911 in mind, but only those who have driven various 911s would understand that the interior was also designed with the air-cooled 911 in mind. You're right, sir.
Thank you (laughs) I was quite passionate about this area, so I will ask you to write another article (laughs).

Congratulations on the delivery of your car!

    Aventurine Green Metallic is wonderful!

I've test drove a 911 4S before in Aventura Green and I'm hooked!

The advantage is that there are many choices (you can make your own model depending on the options), but there are few real examples to check, so I really look forward to the usual variety of information.

    • Mina.Mina.

      Mr. Wind Slope.
Thank you for everything! The car has finally been delivered!
Aventurine Green Metallic, it's really beautiful in person (I finally remembered the color name lol).

As for the 992 Cabriolet, it was a much nicer car than we could have imagined.
I hope to write articles from various angles.

Thank you for your continued support.

    992 Congratulations on your ministry!
Thank you for all your help in purchasing 981 GTS.

I too have just taken delivery of my 981 and am very pleased with the ride and the great sound.

But, on the other hand, when I first drove it, compared to the 992 s Cabri
The steering is a little slower and a little less grounded.
I also felt somewhat scared at the corners.

This may be no surprise since it is the latest model.
The 992 Cabri is such a comfortable ride and sharp handling.
The balance of the two is great, and I felt that I could step into it with confidence.

I have been doing even better since I passed the 1500 km mark, so
We look forward to another detailed review.

    • Mina.Mina.

      Mr. Tomozo.

      Thank you very much!
981, you have taken delivery of your car. Congratulations!

981 is really, really pleasant, including the sound of the engine and the production.

      >Just, on the other hand, compared to the 992 s Cabri when I first drove it.
      >Steering is a little slower and a little less grounded.
      >I also felt somewhat scared at the corner.

      >Maybe it's no surprise since it's the latest model.
      >992 Cabri is such a comfortable ride and sharp handling.
      >And I felt that the balance of being able to step in with confidence was great.

My husband said, "That's exactly what I mean! Just as you said! I am so glad to hear that.
The 992 is a better car than we had imagined and we are amazed at the tremendous evolution from the 991.
If you drive the 981 after driving the 992, you will think, "Huh? The suspension is so soft and the handling is so sweet.

My husband is planning to go touring in the future and to drive in Fuji with the Porsche Driving School.
I hope to be able to review many things again.
I am very much looking forward to seeing how the ride will change after the break-in period is over.
Thank you for your continued support.

Aventurine green looks great with white-gold wheels. maybe some aftermarket painting is in order... 🙂

Do you detect the lack of Limited Slip Differential when driving fast on B-roads? Does it slip when accelerating out of a corner?

  5. late-ripening citrus (e.g. pomelo)

Congratulations on the delivery of your car. It's very nice!
Is the shape of the key also kind of shapely?

    • Mina.Mina.

      diluted nitrogen-potassium acid
      Thank you!

      >Is the shape of the key also somehow sharper?
      It's hard to tell from the appearance, but if you look closely, you can see that the thickness of the product has been slightly sharpened ^^;

  6. Nak

Mina, congratulations on the delivery of your car.

I can feel how much fun it is to drive the car.
I'm sure you have been running the hybrid quite a bit since you probably have to break it in.

I also ran about 500 kilometers by the end of last week.
But it is not yet until 3000 km, when the break-in period is over.
Is there a long break-in period for the 911 as well?
This is the first time I have ever heard of 3,000 kilometers.

For GT4, the limit is 4,000 RPM, but it is no problem at all in town.
The M3 is currently being inspected and maintained, and the GT4 is the only car I will be driving for a while.
This is also how I go shopping at the supermarket, and I am glad that supermarkets these days do not have steps at their entrances.
I also have an M3 replacement car.
However, when the engine is started, it blasts off on its own, so the eyes of those around me are quite painful.
I'm wondering if this can be unlocked through coding, do you know anything about this?
    Perhaps the same for GT3...

    • Mina.Mina.

      Nak acid
Thank you! My husband liked this cabriolet quite a bit.
They are driving the car on various roads and gathering a lot of information about how the car drives.

      >I also ran about 500 km by the end of last week.
Oh my gosh it's amazing!!! Now it's time for the season to get going.
I imagine that on a sunny day, it would be very pleasant to drive in GT4.

      >Is there a long break-in period for the 911 as well?
The 971 Panamera also had a distance of 3,000 kilometers in the normalized driving range.
(I wrote about it briefly in an old post.)
      https://www.panamera-life.com/entry/2017/10/17/

As for the late 991 GT3, according to the owner's manual, the normalizing operation is 1500 km.
      https://www.panamera-life.com/entry/gt3-oil-change-2006/

Does it vary a lot from model to model?

      >This is also how I go shopping to the supermarket, and I am glad that supermarkets these days do not have steps at the entrance.
Oh yes!!! Super with the GT4, so freaking stylish!
Recently, the number of parking lots with low parking spaces has been increasing, so I guess people can ride without worrying more than in the past.

      >However, when the engine is started, the engine blows up on its own, so the eyes of those around me are quite painful.
      The engine starting sound of Porsche is loud ^^;
      Ask my husband.
All Porsche models are loud when the engine starts except for hybrids and the like. The tachometer needle goes off once, so it can't be helped.
      He said.

  7. Kunipon (brand-name breath mint marketed as having various medicinal properties)

Congratulations on the delivery of your car.
I took delivery of a 992 Carrera 4 this year.
We considered either the sports package or the sports exhaust and chose the sports exhaust.
Now I regret that I should have chosen both.
I considered a cabriolet, but decided on a close body since I also own a 124 Spyder. It was difficult to make an aggressive purchase, and I think Mima is wonderful.

    • Mina.Mina.

      Kunipon.
      Thank you!

      >I took delivery of a 992 Carrera 4 this year.
      Oh yes!!! Congratulations !!!!
      How about a sports exhaust?
I am sure that the more I ride, the better the sound will become.

In our house, I think my husband always spends hundreds of hours trying to decide on the specs, whether to go ah-ha or ah-ha (laughs).
Thanks to you, the car has been delivered in a way that suits our family's car life, and I am grateful for that.

I'm so jealous of your 124 Spyder!
I've been wanting to ride one for a long time now!
