I say again, manual cars are fun!

My Family's Car Life

manual transmission (of a vehicle)

For the first time in my life, my car, theBMW 320i with manual transmissionhas been driving the 320i quite often since it arrived at our home. It has been almost a year since the car was delivered.

This 320i is a completely bare-bones model, not an M-Sport, etc., so after I got used to driving it, I honestly thought, "I'm going to have to get used to it.I'm missing something...I have more and more chances to feel that "I'm not a fan of this car". The engine is quiet and the ride is comfortable, so it is a very good family car, but after all, if you drive a 320i after driving a Boxster, you may feel that "Wow, I knew it was totally different.I often compared it to "the other side of the world.(We shouldn't even be comparing them in the first place.)

However, manual cars are still fun. After about a year of driving, I came full circle and began to feel that MT cars are fun, even if they are not aggressive models at all. Sometimes my husband would say, "I'm not using my NISMO to commute today, so you can ride it.I am sometimes told, "I'm not sure what to do," but after much deliberation, I end up driving the 320i.

I want to enjoy driving in the city.

I used to take my family on mid-range drives and to the Fuji Speedway and Hakone Turnpike.I regularly had the opportunity to enjoy driving my car in an extraordinary space.

So there was not that much driving fun to be had in everyday shopping or even picking up the kids. HoweverI'm pregnant now, so I can't go for long drives for a while.

Well, I'm in the stable period, so there's no reason I can't go for a long drive... In fact, when I was pregnant with my first daughter, I drove myself and my wife to Mt.(It was an SLK350 at the time)On the way home, I returned via Nagano and Ishikawa, but as expected, I was tired and the morning sickness returned.

Naturally, the doctor gave me a stern warning during the medical checkup (-_-).

I am not as young now as I was then, and I still want to refrain from going on long-distance drives with my body weight.

So, recently, I have almost stopped driving the car except for neighborhood shopping and picking up my children from school. Although I drive only about 5 km round-trip every day in the city center with many traffic lightsIt became very important to me how to enjoy driving on this familiar road.

Then again, I would want to drive a MT car.

I would love to drive a Panamera, but it would be too much of a stretch to send it out for trotting around town, and I don't want to increase the mileage just to drive it unnecessarily... Also, the Boxster is over capacity with two kids, so that's where the 320i comes in.

I drive the 320i every day these days, so now I can drive it normally, even with boots and boots on.(I would have preferred driving shoes.)

The joys of MT cars

What is so much fun about a manual car...AT cars are easier, smoother, and more fuel-efficient, so it is obvious that AT cars are usually better. And yet, you still end up driving a manual transmission car.I got hooked on the fun and enjoyment of being able to control it myself.I guess it's because of the

as ifSensation of playing sportsI mean....

I used to be a bit addicted to snowboarding. At first I was always falling down, but gradually I learned how to put my weight on the board and how to feel the weight shift, and it was a great feeling when I was able to ski forest trails and advanced courses.

Driving a manual car feels somewhat similar to the way I felt then.

Especially when a gear change is made in a flowing manner, it feels so good that I can't help grinning. It is a pleasure to be able to experience this kind of pleasure and enjoyment in my daily driving.Very valuable for me now that I can't travel very far.It is.

In talking about moving the Panamera to the next car, he said, "I'm afraid the usage might overlap, in which case I'll have to let go of the 320i...I have thought about it for a while, but I think I will keep my beloved 320i for a while after all.

Ahhh, I wish I could ride air-cooled for a long time.

    Thank you very much.
Sure, automatics are easy to use.
All that is boring, isn't it?

With an air-cooled Porsche, the direct feeling is even greater.

    On Sunday the 22nd, I may go up to Ashi Ari (^-^;

      >The air-cooled Porsche gives a more direct feeling.
I'd love to drive an air-cooled Porsche manual once!
I have no idea what it would be like, and I am sure it would be difficult, but I imagine it would be a lot of fun to ride it!

You are going up to Ashiu on the 22nd!
My husband is going touring or something, so he may not go...
I would be very happy to see you again sometime.
