Coming This August: A New Arrival at Our Home…!

Our Car Life

Not about cars this time…

Sorry for the teasing title. This time, it’s not about cars, but a personal update about our family. I’m currently five months pregnant and expecting our third child this August. Finally, the time has come to share this news with everyone.

From the end of last year through the beginning of this year, my health wasn’t great, and when I mentioned that I’d be posting less frequently on the blog, many readers sent me messages like, “Are you feeling okay?” and “Are you overdoing the blog? Please take care of yourself!

Thank you all so much for your warm messages. I’m sorry for causing you worry.

The cause of my health issues was morning sickness—I could barely eat in January and spent most days lying down, vomiting daily. On the rare days I felt better, I’d get a bit carried away, shouting “Alright!” as I updated the blog or visited the Porsche Center, only to be hit with severe vomiting that very night…

Fortunately, this time the morning sickness was milder and ended sooner than with my older two. Now, I only notice a slight acidic taste in my mouth, and my health has fully recovered.

The reason our family’s car choice kept changing and couldn’t be finalized was because of this surprise new life:

If we’re going to be a family of five, a four-seater Panamera is definitely out. Is the Taycan too cramped? Then maybe the Cayenne… but if we’re traveling as five, we’d use the Note anyway… hmm.

So, it was tough to make a firm decision.

Pregnancy and the blog

While we’re truly happy and grateful for this new life, I have to admit I felt conflicted when I first found out I was pregnant. The blog had been growing nicely since last fall, and I myself was thinking,

“Next year, I’m going to dive even deeper into blogging! The kids will be a bit more independent, and I’ll finally have some time for myself, so I’m going to give it my all!”

So the pregnancy came as a surprise just as I was gearing up.

From experience, pregnancy shifts your mindset from pushing forward to protecting and nesting (let’s call it nesting). After birth, you’re busy caring for the baby, sleep is scarce, and it becomes physically and mentally difficult to take on new challenges or work.

Also, with our eldest starting elementary school and our second entering kindergarten this April, adding a newborn to the mix means things will get hectic… Thinking about all this, I couldn’t hide my hesitation about having to put the brakes on my plans again, so I talked it over with my husband and we discussed it thoroughly.

That said, I’m still a mother at heart… When we heard the baby’s heartbeat at the first prenatal checkup, I was overwhelmed with emotion, and at that moment, I fully committed myself to this birth.

Now, I’m focusing on making sure the baby arrives safely, taking it easy as much as possible (though my nature makes me push myself anyway…), and living calmly.

The Porsche blog going forward

I’m sure many readers are curious about what our next family car will be after the Panamera.

We’ve roughly decided on a direction, but nothing is finalized yet—including specs—so I’ll share more details when the time is right.

As for the blog, I plan to keep updating at a similar pace, sometimes mixing in “pregnancy and car topics.” I’m not sure what will happen after the baby is born, but knowing myself, I’ll probably keep up this pace. (Though parenting is tough, I’m not the type to have my whole life consumed by it.)

This post didn’t touch on cars at all, but please continue to support “Welcome Home, PORSCHE” going forward.
