Sightseeing in LA by GLS450 - MARIBU CAFE, Santa Monica, Griffith Observatory

My Family's Car Life

To Santa Monica Pier

The next stop was Santa Monica. Santa Monica is a town with the atmosphere of California. Santa Monica is famous forSanta Monica Pier. The The pier has a historic amusement park with merry-go-rounds, roller coasters, and the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.

Incidentally, the Santa Monica Pier is also famous as the terminus of "Route 66" and is also a spot that often appears in movies. Also in "Forrest Gump" starring Tom Hanks and "Hancock" starring Will SmithI heard that they are doing it. But I've seen both movies, and I don't remember any of the scenes in either of them.

The street along the ocean toward the Santa Monica Pier was also very beautiful, with children running around, people lounging while playing their favorite music, and a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Perhaps it would be even cooler and less crowded if we came early in the morning!

The eldest daughter also seemed pleased, lying down on her large bed.My eldest daughter is very shy and would never lie down in a place like this in Japan.But...after all, the open atmosphere and blue skies of California kept the door to her heart fully open from start to finish.(By the way, my daughter always said she didn't want to go back to Japan and preferred America.)

To Griffith Observatory

After leaving Santa Monica, the next stop wasGriffith Observatory. This Griffith Observatory is located inA famous tourist spot in Los Angeles, the location from the movie "Yes Man" starring Jim CarreyIt was still light at 8:00 p.m. in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. Both San Francisco and Los Angeles have a later sunset time than Japan, and it is still light at 20:00, so we said to ourselves, "We can see the sunset right around the time we get to the Griffith Observatory..." and we went to the famousHOLLYWOOD.I was also able to see the sign.

We were driving smoothly, but as we approached the Griffith Observatory, the roads began to get extremely busy, and we had to make a U-turn due to traffic restrictions. As expected, it was dark when we arrived at the observatory.

I couldn't see the sunset, but I was very happy to see the beautiful night view. When I visited New York, I saw the night view of New York from the top of the Empire State Building, and it was just as beautiful as that time.I heard that if you come in winter, the air is clearer and it looks even more beautiful.

howeverIf the night view is beautiful... that means a lot of people work late at night..."I suddenly thought to myself... I want the reform of work styles to progress, but if everyone goes home early and the lights go out in the office, we won't be able to see the beautiful night view... On the other hand, working too much is not good... I have mixed feelings about this (-_-).

Porsche seen in Los Angeles

This is how I enjoyed sightseeing in Los Angeles, even though it was only a short two-day tour.Incidentally, the number of Porsche models I saw in Los Angeles was much larger than in San Francisco, including 911s, Boxsters, and newer Porsches. There were also many running.

It is fun to travel in Japan, but it is also fun to travel abroad to places with completely different values and cultures. Come to think of it, when I was a student, I liked to travel abroad a lot, but once I became a working adult and had children, I stopped going altogether.

But life is short.I want to have the freedom to work and live a comfortable lifestyle that allows me to go abroad whenever I feel like it."The trip to California made me realize once again that I would like to make my own
