Porsche has announced a new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS (992).

Designed to take track performance to the next level, the kit brings a wide range of upgrades, including improved aerodynamic efficiency, optimized suspension and enhanced braking performance.

The new Manthey Kit was developed through close collaboration between engineers at Porsche’s Weissach Development Center and Manthey. These track-focused components will be available through Porsche Centers.

The launch date for Japan has not yet been announced. Prices start at €76,911 (approximately ¥12.3 million), making this a seriously high-end upgrade.

More Than One Ton of Downforce at 285 km/h

The Manthey Kit’s most striking feature is its extensively revised aerodynamic package.

The front spoiler lip is larger and now incorporates carbon-fiber reinforcement. Two dive planes have also been added to either side of the front bumper to increase downforce on the front axle.

The rear window is replaced with a carbon-fiber panel that is 25% lighter and fitted with a shark fin. Derived from the Porsche 963, which has competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the fin is designed to improve stability through corners. Combined with six additional roof fins, it channels warm air from the front radiator out and away from the car, helping cool air reach the rear even in extreme driving conditions.

A split carbon-fiber DRS wing element works with larger, redesigned endplates to increase rear-axle downforce. The substantially enlarged rear diffuser also boosts downforce without increasing drag.

Together, these aerodynamic components generate more than 1,000 kg of downforce at 285 km/h. The result is greater speed through fast and medium-speed corners, along with maximum vehicle stability.

No rear window…

Semi-Active Coilover Suspension

To cope with the increased downforce, the spring rates of the semi-active coilover suspension have been revised. Spring rates are up 30% at the front axle and 15% at the rear.

Four wheel sensors, three body-acceleration sensors and a newly developed control unit enable automatic damper adjustments that are faster and more precise than before. The new shock absorbers have separate valves for compression and rebound, each controlled independently. This allows the suspension to respond precisely to changing driving and road conditions, maximizing stability on track.

Different parameter sets are available for the Normal, Sport and Track driving modes, allowing the basic damper characteristics to be adjusted. In Track mode, drivers can also use the rotary control on the steering wheel to fine-tune the basic setup to suit their personal preferences.

Track-Optimized Racing Brake Pads

The Manthey Kit’s braking components have been tailored to the demands of circuit driving. Steel-braided brake lines deliver a more direct pedal feel and quicker response.

For cars equipped with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), optional racing brake pads are available. Developed specifically for track use, they help reduce brake fade while improving response and control.

These brake pads deliver consistent performance across a wide temperature range and offer excellent wear resistance for both the pads and discs.

A Range of Accessories to Make It Your Own

For Porsche owners looking to add visual flair, a selection of especially sporty accessories lets them customize their 911 GT3 RS. Options include illuminated carbon-fiber door-sill guards with red and white Manthey logos, LED door projectors displaying a white Manthey logo, and decals in a range of colors for the carbon-fiber “aero discs”—all designed to accentuate the 911 GT3 RS’s distinctive character.

Manthey logos can also be added to the car’s doors in neodyme, white or black.

A tow hook for track use is available, too, and can be mounted at the front or rear. It comes in red, black or yellow and can be fitted at either end using the corresponding threaded mounting point.

A Major Boost in Track Performance

Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister had this to say about the Manthey Kit:

“The Manthey Kit has significantly improved the 911 GT3 RS’s performance on track. The gains are especially noticeable in medium-speed corners. The car dives, pitches and rolls even less, providing a more stable aerodynamic platform. As a result, high downforce remains exceptionally consistent in all driving conditions.”

Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, added:

“For two years, we’ve worked with Porsche engineers to develop the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS, carrying out thousands of kilometers of testing at circuits across Europe and on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Our data suggests that lap times should improve significantly compared with a standard 911 GT3 RS. So far, weather conditions have prevented us from recording an official Nordschleife lap time, but we’re determined to do so at the next opportunity.”

Orders are now being accepted for the Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS. It is scheduled to go on sale in EU markets from January 2025 and in markets outside the EU from March 2025. Importantly, installing the kit will not affect the 911 GT3 RS’s manufacturer warranty.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is already engineered to push track performance to the limit, and the arrival of the Manthey Kit takes it another step further.
