The Unspoken Bond Between Panamera Owners

Life with a Panamera
Among Porsche models, I feel like Panamera owners are a pretty rare breed. The ones I see most often are the Cayenne, Macan, 911, Cayman, and Boxster—which, of course, means pretty much anything but the Panamera!
So whenever I spot another Panamera, I feel a curious sense of kinship. I can’t help giving it a good look, and before I know it, the other driver is often looking right back. Sometimes our eyes meet as we pass; other times, I find myself following the car in my rearview mirror.
The Panamera GTS I Often See in My Neighborhood
About three years ago, not long after we moved into our current home, I started seeing a white 970-generation Panamera GTS around the neighborhood. Even on everyday drives, its rear spoiler was always raised. When it pulled away from a stoplight with a throaty “VROOM!” and accelerated in style, I’d think, “Oh, there’s the GTS again today!” Spotting it always made me happy.
After a while, I began seeing the GTS turning into—or emerging from—the narrow streets near our house. “So the GTS owner must live around here,” I thought, feeling an even stronger connection.
Then, a few months ago, I spotted the GTS parked at the Co-op near our home while I was out shopping. “Oh! The GTS owner shops at Co-op, too!” I wondered what the owner was like, though I still had no idea who they were. (I couldn’t exactly hang around waiting for them to come out! lol)
Then the other day, I headed to the Co-op in our Panamera and ended up right behind the GTS at a red light. “Oh, it’s the GTS!” I thought as I followed along—and, sure enough, it turned into the Co-op parking lot, too!
After that, I parked somewhere nearby and kept an eye out. A lovely-looking woman soon stepped out of the GTS.
And Then, the Moment Finally Came…
I remember thinking, “So that’s who drives it!” Then, on my next trip to Co-op, the GTS was parked there again. Our near-misses were becoming more frequent. I got out of our Panamera—and there she was, climbing into the GTS after finishing her shopping. We finally came face to face!
I instinctively bowed, and she returned a friendly nod.
Wow, why does this feel like meeting someone I already know? ( ゚∀゚)・∵.
I don’t know her name or anything about her family, so where does this curious sense of camaraderie come from? And why am I so convinced that she must be a really nice person? lol. For some reason, I haven’t seen the GTS as often since then. But next time I do, I might try striking up a conversation…
These days, I can understand why people who own the same car enjoy getting together for a drive.
