Pre-Delivery Procedures for the Porsche 911 Carrera T
The other day, I went to complete the pre-delivery procedures for the 911 Carrera T.
I thought it was still far off, but before I knew it, time had flown by.
Until now, I had accompanied my husband to his Porsche pre-delivery appointments, but since I wasn’t the buyer, I never really paid close attention to what documents were signed or what exactly was done. (With kids around, it’s hard to just sit and watch carefully.)
This time, since it’s my very first Porsche, I was a bit nervous but brought two copies of my certificate of seal impression, my registered seal, and my bank seal and went to the Porsche Center with my family.
At the dealer, we spent about an hour confirming the final specs and price, stamping documents, discussing the loan payment amounts, and chatting with our contact, Mr. H.
Including options, the PSMP (Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan: an all-in-one package covering statutory inspections, manufacturer inspections, and major parts replacement/refills for 3 or 5 years from purchase), and other fees, my Carrera T came to a total of 20,583,160 yen.
That’s… expensive.
By the way, I didn’t add dealer coating since I planned to have it done at a nearby Keeper Lab.
Out of the roughly 20 million yen, I managed to scrape together about 4 million yen as a down payment (including the deposit), by desperately cashing out some investment trusts, haha. Even so, with a 5-year residual value loan set at 40%, the monthly payment is about 210,000 yen.
Wow… that’s also steep.
Well… I don’t think the value of the Carrera T will drop to 40% of the new car price in five years, but buying it myself really makes me realize how much the resale value and monthly payments matter in detail.
That said, once it’s delivered, I hope I can forget all that and just enjoy driving it to the fullest.
Carrera T Arrives at the Dealer!
After returning from the dealer, I first obtained the garage certificate, handed it to Mr. H, transferred the down payment, and smoothly completed the procedures.
The pickup date for my Swift was also set (just before the Carrera T delivery), and preparations steadily progressed. I was nervously thinking, “It’s finally happening!” when Mr. H contacted me to say the Carrera T had safely arrived at the dealer.
He also sent lots of photos and videos, but honestly, at first, I couldn’t quite believe it was my own 911. It felt like someone else’s car, and I just thought, “Wow… that’s cool…” But after looking at it for a while, I gradually started to feel, “Ah, this is my 911.”
Strangely enough, the Carrera T suddenly seemed incredibly cool—like, insanely cool—and since then, whenever I have free time, I’ve been grinning while looking at the photos and videos (laughs).

With the lightweight body, Carrera engine, sports chassis, and rear axle options, it’s definitely not a car focused on comfort (laughs), but the driving experience will surely be a blast…!
I’m so excited I can hardly wait. Please, let it be sunny on delivery day. Actually, I won’t ask for that much—just no rain, even if it’s cloudy…!
