The Panamera Is Currently at Sea

This weekend, my husband said, “It’s the Panamera, and it should be arriving soon, at Toyohashi Port.”

Oh… finally…!

Once it arrives at Toyohashi Port, goes through inspections, reaches the nearby dealer, and passes the final checks and inspections, it will probably be in our hands within a month. It feels like a dream.

Schedule Until Delivery

Regarding the time from ordering to delivery of the new Panamera Turbo, the Porsche dealer we rely on has a long history with Porsche and is said by our contact to have a relatively large production allocation.

Even so, it takes 7 months from ordering to delivery for the new Panamera Turbo.

Looking at the details:

・March 5: Ordered the new Panamera Turbo
(At that time, the production slot was probably August, with delivery expected around November)
↓
・Early June: Dealer contact informed us that a July production slot was secured
↓
・July 6: Dealer contact informed us that production had started at the factory
(They said the arrival in Japan might be earlier, possibly around October)
↓
・August 3: Dealer contact informed us that the car was completed and loaded onto the ship
(At that time, the earliest delivery was said to be late September)
↓
・September 2: Visited the dealer to complete delivery procedures
(Delivery was expected between early and mid-October. Since I planned to attend the WEC starting October 14 in the Panamera Turbo, I earnestly asked them to make sure it arrived by then)

The actual production doesn’t even take a full month. Once the production slot is assigned, things seem to proceed smoothly, but even the dealer contact can’t predict the details. It seems to differ between the Turbo, 4S, and e-Hybrid models.

I wonder how many people in Japan are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newly ordered Panamera. Thinking about those people somehow makes me feel connected to them, even from afar. w

Even with such a wait, I’m sure Porsche will deliver a car that far exceeds expectations—that’s what makes Porsche so amazing.
