The Porsche Mosaic Art Project

To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Porsche launched the Porsche Mosaic Art Project, bringing together photos of Porsches and their owners to create one giant mosaic. I looked it up online right away and found a dedicated website. Here it is:

(This mosaic was created to mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of Kobe Port.)

How Can You Take Part?

There seem to be two ways to join in: post a photo on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag “#Porsche70,” or upload one through the project website. Since I had the chance, I decided to submit mine through the site. A quick look showed that plenty of photos were already there.

So I added a title and a caption and submitted a photo.

(I probably didn’t need to write it in English… and it wasn’t exactly impressive English, either.)

Then a message popped up saying, “Please wait while your submission is reviewed,” and the screen disappeared. I wonder where my photo went. Maybe it’ll show up after a while?

I waited about 30 minutes, but still couldn’t see it, so perhaps the review takes some time.

Try Posting on Social Media!

Looking through the submissions, I noticed that many people had posted on Instagram with the hashtag, so I think I’ll start adding it to my own Instagram posts, too.

The Porsche project website says there’s no guarantee that every submitted photo will be used, so it looks like you can submit as many times as you like.
That said, it doesn’t specify when the finished mosaic will be unveiled or how long submissions will be accepted, so perhaps they’ll keep the project open for a while.

Off to the Anniversary Fair!

Porsche’s 70th Anniversary Fair is being held at authorized Porsche dealerships this weekend and next—June 2–3 and June 9–10. There are limited-edition goodies to pick up, and I also need to get the oil changed in our Panamera, so I’ve decided to go tomorrow.

I wonder if it’ll be busy. We’re taking the kids, so things will probably get a little chaotic… ^^;
