GT3 Touring Package Delivery Date

Following in the footsteps of BMW911GT3 Touring (991.2)was the day of delivery of the car.     Congratulations on the delivery of your car. I can understand your husband's excitement. When starting up a hill, if the incline is steep, the so-called hill assist allows the driver to start the car with only the clutch. It seems to adjust the revolutions so that the car is less likely to stall when starting. I am sure you will get used to starting with the clutch. I envy your wife's motivation.

    As I think I have informed you a little before, I have also taken delivery of a 991.2 Carrera and sold the 718 Cayman that I mentioned here.

    Now, the clutch on the 991.2 bare Carrera MT is lighter than the 718 Cayman. As for the Buyer's Guide, it's already a comment for used cars. I remember reading that the Carrera's are twin plate, but I can't find the source.

    As mentioned by 991-2 GT3 MT, when starting both 718 Cayman and 991.2 Carrera, if the accelerator pedal is not pressed at all and the car is half clutched, the engine seems to be controlled to automatically rev up a little bit to start. In the case of the 718 Cayman, this control is disabled when the accelerator pedal is depressed once, so the car may stall if the accelerator pedal is depressed and then released, but I felt that the car is less likely to stall if the half clutch is depressed without stepping on the accelerator pedal. Of course, when the steering wheel is turned down or when going uphill, it is necessary to step on the accelerator pedal. If the control of GT3 is the same, it may be easier because the 4L NA engine will have more torque at low rpm.

    I see that the break-in for the GT3 is 1500km. I wonder if the distance to overhaul is also short. It is written that the rpms for the bare Carrera should be less than 4000 rpm until 3000 km, but I am starting the break-in at 2000 rpm (45 km/h in 3rd gear, 60 km/h in 4th gear) because I feel like it has been a long time. I am planning to have protection film installed, so I will not drive on highways until then, so the distance will not increase much. 718 Cayman gave me an impression that I could not keep up with the flow of traffic around me at 2000 rpm, but with Carrera, I can drive normally. I drove over some mountain passes, but the turbo boost remained at zero. I wish I could rev it faster.........
