At Last—the Speedster Is Here!

My husband blurted out the moment he woke up this morning:

“The Speedster is finally here! (ﾟ∀ﾟ)!!”

…S-Speedster…(-_-)??

…Oh… the Porsche one（笑）

“Has the Speedster already been announced? The one limited to 1,948 cars?” I asked.

“Well, it hasn’t actually gone on sale yet, but they’ve released a concept film. I don’t think Porsche has ever released a film like this before launching a Speedster. Maybe it came out to coincide with yesterday’s 70th anniversary of Porsche.”

A Speedster That Calls the 356 to Mind

“The video’s only just been released, but people are already loving it. Look at the comments!” My husband showed me this angle first, so

I blurted out:

“Wait, what is this ‘person with no eyebrows’ design…? (*_*)”

I’m truly sorry to Porsche fans and the designers around the world…

But after watching the video from beginning to end several times and taking a closer look, I started to appreciate just how beautifully executed the design is.

Taking a Closer Look at the Speedster

With its classic design reminiscent of the original Porsche 356, this Speedster has gorgeous flowing lines. The silver body color looks just like the 356’s.
The wheels are Fuchs wheels, a style that was often fitted to classic Porsches.

The bumper looks fantastic, almost like the one on a GT3.

The headlights are incredible, too.
I’ve never seen a design like this!

It looks like the fuel filler is on the hood. I wonder why.
Will you have to hurry through every fill-up to avoid spilling gas? The interior color looks seriously cool with the silver body.

I’ve never seen the PORSCHE lettering light up like that before.

My husband was impressed: “Porsche is so good at bringing classic designs back to life with a modern twist. No wonder everyone’s going to want one.”

It just occurred to me: surely they’ve removed the 70th-anniversary sticker by now（笑）?

One thing’s for sure: production will be limited, so some dealerships may not receive an allocation. I wonder how many cars will be coming to the dealership we use… My husband has put his name down, but will one actually come our way?

For now, all we can do is wait for the official announcement!
