I Made Business Cards for My Blog: 100 for Just ¥882 with Vistaprint!

Off to Interview a Porsche Specialist
As it happens, next week I’ll be interviewing the owner of a Porsche specialist workshop through a connection I’ve made. (I plan to share the interview here on the blog.) Lately, I’ve found myself wondering whether I should move my day job over to this car blog entirely… but realistically, that’s not an option just yet. For now, I’d love to keep building this as a parallel career.
Time to Make Some Business Cards
So, I decided to make business cards for the blog. I looked around online, but there were so many sites promising things like “low prices,” “fast turnaround,” and “free for a limited time” that I couldn’t make up my mind. Then I remembered using Vistaprint a long time ago, so I decided to give it another try.
Since this was just a test run, I chose an inexpensive design that I could put together quickly from a template. Searching for “car” brought up a huge selection. (Probably around 200 designs.)

There were plenty of designs aimed at auto repair businesses, but some looked unmistakably BMW-inspired, others very Audi, and others distinctly Mercedes-Benz. Unfortunately, there weren’t any Porsche designs, so I went with the template that seemed to come closest to the Porsche look.

There were colorful options in yellow, red, blue, and green, and they were cute, too. But I decided to keep it simple and go with white. Here’s how it turned out.

So, How Much Did They Cost?
Now for the part you’re probably wondering about: the price.
100 cards started at ¥980, less 10%: just ¥882
“Wow, that’s so cheap!” I thought, and placed my order. But shipping brought the total to ¥1,493. “At that price, it’s not much different from the place my company usually uses,” I thought. Still, I got to use a car-themed template, so I’ll call that a win.
I ordered the cards on April 28, and the estimated delivery date was May 8. (You can pay extra for rush production.) They actually arrived ahead of schedule, on May 3. Here’s what they looked like when I opened the package.

I showed them to my husband, but he handed them back, saying, “Hmm, they’re okay, but the paper feels a bit cheap.” So I made him take one anyway. (-_-)
He wasn’t wrong… they do feel a little thin, but they’re perfectly fine for blog-related use. Maybe once this blog—and I, haha—get more famous, I’ll upgrade to some seriously flashy, glittering business cards!
Going forward, I’d love to do more interviews with shops and Porsche owners. I can’t wait!
