Do Porsche Owners Give Their Cars Names?

A Name for Your Porsche
It occurred to me one day: “Do Porsche owners give their cars names?” Most people probably call their cars by their model names, but I wonder if some give them pet names, too.
I once tried to come up with a name for the Panamera we have now.
I thought giving it a name might make it feel even more like “a trusty companion.”
A Porsche already feels like a close companion. If I had to compare it to a pet, I’d say it’s more like a dog than a cat—racing through life and along winding roads right beside its driver. I figured a name might make us feel even closer, so I brainstormed a few possibilities.
“Porschey”?
Hmm, not quite. I wanted something inspired by the Panamera, not Porsche in general.
“Pana-Pana”?
…Nope. That just sounds silly. Besides, it might depend on whether I imagined the Panamera as male or female. The more I thought about it, the less I could settle on a name. In the end, I landed on:
“Mr. Pana.”
It feels like a trusted companion, but also a slightly senior one—and it works whether the car is a guy or a girl. So:
“Mr. Pana.”
I have no idea whether the Panamera likes the name. And since I usually just call it “the Panamera,” naming it hasn’t really changed anything… But anyway, here’s to many more miles together, my trusty companion!
