In 2020, Aimé Leon Dore announced its first collaboration with Porsche. Since then, the two have been working on a project to restore classic Porsche sports cars in their own distinctive style.

This collaboration clearly reflects the shared philosophy of both brands: top-tier craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and a subtle yet elegant style. Projects restoring the 964 Carrera 4, 911 SC, and 356 B have already been completed, each attracting attention with original designs that reinterpret classic cars in a contemporary way.

And now, in 2024, Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore have unveiled their fourth and latest collaboration. The star of this project is the legendary 993 Turbo.

2024 – Porsche x Aimé Leon Dore 993 Turbo

This latest and fourth official collaboration between Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore focuses on the legendary 993 Turbo that stunned the world 30 years ago.

Thanks to the brands’ close collaborative approach, a timelessly elegant restoration capturing the excitement of this groundbreaking sports car has been realized.

The 993 Turbo used in this project is finished in Mulberry Green, a signature color developed over years by Aimé Leon Dore. This color strikes a balance between classic and modern, perfectly highlighting the powerful form of the 993 Turbo.

Technical Upgrades and Exterior Changes

This project goes beyond a mere visual makeover, incorporating several important technical upgrades.

These include the exhaust and front splitter from the 993 Turbo S, as well as the iconic “whale tail” rear wing. These additions not only enhance the car’s dynamic performance but also give the overall design a more aggressive presence.

The exterior look is completed by 18-inch Porsche Turbo Twist rims painted in matching Mulberry Green with gold accents. These wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 high-performance tires. The green and gold combination evokes the refined aura of classic racing cars.

Sophisticated Interior Design

The interior of the Porsche x Aimé Leon Dore 993 Turbo features a refined atmosphere characterized by dark brown leather, lambswool accents, and hardback seats. The monochromatic aesthetic extends to the dark brown carpets, floor mats, seats, and instrument cluster. This harmonized color scheme imparts a calm, luxurious feel throughout the car.

The steering wheel and seat headrests feature custom Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore logos, subtly placed as a testament to the collaboration between the two brands.

Unique Details and Storytelling

The 993 Turbo incorporates intriguing details and touches that made previous collaborations special. A standout feature is the custom gold Unisphere gear knob. The Unisphere is a famous globe symbolizing Queens, New York City, where Aimé Leon Dore was founded.

Additionally, the door sills are engraved with the phrase “A team from outta Queens with the American dream.” These details cleverly weave Aimé Leon Dore’s roots and story into the car, giving it meaning beyond a simple restoration.

Moreover, a corresponding apparel capsule collection named “993 Aimé” will be released alongside the car’s debut, further emphasizing the essence of this fusion between car and fashion.

Overseas, New Balance will release the PORSCHE × AIMÉ LEON DORE × NEW BALANCE 993 MULBERRY GREEN sneaker.
