Update on the 911 Carrera T

My first Porsche, the 911 Carrera T, was completed in early February.

Every day, I kept checking my Porsche’s Track Your Dream and anxiously thought, “Production is complete, but why isn’t it boarding the ship yet? What’s going on?” But yesterday, the status finally changed!

“Departed by sea route to Japan!”

Yay!

I immediately heard from Mr. H, my Porsche Concierge, but since Golden Week is coming up, the delivery will likely be around the end of May at the earliest.

Since delivery will be during the rainy season, I’m a notorious rainstorm magnet, so I’m a bit worried the delivery day might be rainy (though the rainy season might start a little later these days). Still, now that it’s finally on the ship and actually heading to Japan, it feels more real and exciting than ever.

I also found out it’s on the same shipment as some readers’ 911s, and just imagining “our beloved cars are sailing somewhere together on the ocean right now” is deeply moving.

When I first ordered it, I couldn’t really believe I was buying a 911, but recently I’ve started to accept the reality little by little (though it’s hard not to, haha). Every time I drive on a nice road, I think,

“It must feel amazing to drive this road in the Carrera T” or “What kind of driving experience will the Carrera T offer? How will the 992 with a manual transmission feel?”

I find myself daydreaming about the Carrera T more and more.

Status of Selling My Swift Sport

That said, my current car, the Swift Sport, is running perfectly.

About a week ago, I listed it on the used car sales site “Car Baba,” and it has already received around 2,500 views and some inquiries.

I hope my beloved car sells well, but if it sells too quickly, I’ll feel a bit lonely… It’s a complicated feeling, but I’m hoping it finds a great new owner.

On a different note, today my husband is participating in a Porsche driving event hosted by 911DAYS at Fuji Speedway, so the whole family was planning to go together.

…but my eldest son got sick the night before and couldn’t go, so I stayed home with him and my eldest daughter. Only my youngest daughter went with my husband, and they’re enjoying a parent-child trip with driving and circuit experience.

Since I, the notorious rainstorm magnet, am not going, the weather forecast for Fuji Speedway is sunny, so maybe that’s for the best (laughs).

Someday, I want to try driving the Carrera T on the circuit too!
