In this issue, we will delve into the fascination of the Porsche 911, its history, design, performance, and the passion of Porsche drivers who love the 911 from various angles.

911 History: An Evolving Legend

Porsche (officially known asF. (Ferdinand) Porsche Honorary Doctor of Engineering, Inc.The founder Ferdinand Porsche's words describe the product concept of the company ("....

I was looking for a small, lightweight, energy-efficient sports car. I looked for my ideal car, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I decided to build it myself. So I decided to build it myself."

The history of the 911, which inherited such a concept, begins with its debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show.

There is an anecdote that the car was originally announced under the name "901" but was changed to "911" because Peugeot had a trademark with "three digits and a zero in the middle".

The first 911 was,Air-cooled horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine mounted in the rear for a unique driving feelThe first 911 was built in 1966. Since then, the 911 has been constantly evolving through numerous model changes. By incorporating technological innovations such as increased engine displacement, turbochargers, and improved suspension, the 911 has refined its performance as a sports car.

The 911 has made its name through victories in some of the world's toughest races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the Rallye de Monte Carlo. The technology developed in racing has been fed back to the production models and has contributed to the improvement of the 911's performance.

The 911 has also produced numerous derivative models over its long history.
Models such as the Carrera, Targa, Turbo, and GT3, each with its own unique character, have met the diverse needs of Porsche drivers. In recent years, hybrid models incorporating electrification technology and the electric car Taikan have also been introduced, opening up new possibilities for Porsche.

911 Design: Pursuit of Functional Beauty

The design of the 911 is,Distinctive silhouette that is instantly recognizable. It is. The rounded headlights, the gently sloping roofline, and the air intakes to cool the rear-mounted engine. These elements characterize the design of the 911.

The design of the 911 is more than just styling,In pursuit of functional beautyIt is said to be. To maximize aerodynamic performance, attention has been paid to every detail. For example, the shape of the rear wing has been optimized to improve stability at high speeds, and aluminum and carbon fiber are used extensively in the body materials to reduce weight and increase rigidity.

The 911's interior features a driver-oriented design. The steering wheel, seats, and pedals are ergonomically designed to allow the driver to control the car at will. The gauges are highly visible and arranged so that the necessary information can be instantly grasped.

The design of the 911 has changed over time, but the underlying philosophy has not. It is,To provide drivers with the best driving experience by pursuing functional beautyIt is.

The design of the 911 is truly a work of art, embodying Porsche's philosophy.

911 Performance: Outstanding Driving Pleasure

The 911's performance as a sports car isProvide exceptional driving pleasure. It will be all about the

The rear-mounted engine produces unique traction, providing the driver with direct and intense traction. In addition, the precision-tuned suspension firmly grasps the road surface and delivers excellent cornering performance.

The 911 engine has constantly evolved. From air-cooled to water-cooled, from naturally aspirated to turbocharged, the form of the engine has changed, but at the root of all these changes is,It has enough torque from low speed and blows up smoothly to high rpm.The engine feel is unique to Porsche.

PDK

The 911 now offers two types of transmission: MT and PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung). MT is attractive because it allows the driver to change gears with his or her own hands, giving the driver a sense of oneness with the car.

PDK, on the other hand, delivers quick shifting and smooth acceleration, providing comfortable driving in a wide range of situations, from sports driving to everyday driving. Perhaps,Its shifting speed is faster than any other manufacturer's transmission in the world, and the sound of shifting is sporty and wonderful.

One of the most important aspects of the 911's performance is its braking performance. The brakes, which have been called "the best brakes in the universe," are not only strong in braking power. The real attraction is the high controllability that even makes deceleration fun!The first is.

Naturally, though, there is a full range of safety equipment, including ABS (anti-lock braking system) and ESC (electronic stability control),What's remarkable is how finely controlled it is.The brakes are very comfortable and controllable. This can be seen in driving schools, for example, when emergency avoidance is performed in extreme conditions. I think it is hard to find brakes that are so controllable without feeling a sense of discomfort.
It is a brake that really allows you to enjoy sport driving with peace of mind.

    Hello.
