[Reflective writing] This sucks! I scraped my Porsche while parking!

I scraped the cayenne...

The other day I scraped the right rear of my Cayenne. I've been saying a lot of great things on my blog about "safe driving" and whatnot, but I did it...

Porsche Cayenne

To tell you the story, this Sunday (today) is the Hyogo Prefectural Gubernatorial Election, but I can't go to the polls, so I thought I'd go and vote before the election date. When I went to the nearest establishment and parked in its parking lot, I scraped it on the block behind me.

In a parking lot that I should have been used to, having parked there many times before, I usually park where no one else is parked or where there are no blocks behind me. But that day the parking lot was a little crowded, and for a moment I thought, "Maybe I should re-park upstairs.I thought, "I'm not going to do that," but that was too much trouble, so I decided to park in a space with a block behind me.

Then, as he stopped, he said, "When it comes to the gubernatorial race, I wonder who I should vote for... I can decide based on the person's promises or the party...As I was backing up, I heard a "screeching" sound and felt a dull thud.

Ah...I did it...

Although a "beep" warning sound is made when an obstacle is detected when parking, the Cayenne has a large body and often makes a warning sound, so I think I had become accustomed to that sound.

In a panic, I checked the back and found that the right rear had been scraped to the rubber resin.

Porsche Cayenne Scratches

Oh...。。。。

Why did I come here to vote before the deadline of all days?

Regret swirled through my head, but it was my fault, nothing but my carelessness, so I had no choice but to reflect and regain my composure.

She told her husband, "I scraped the cayenne.I sent an e-mail to the polling place, but my mind was not on the election. All I could think about was regret, remorse, and how much it would cost to fix the problem, and I left the polls with my mind off the election.

Feel like a beginner again.

Then my husband saw the email, called me, we talked a bit.

I have become accustomed to driving recently, so I must have been distracted. I need to be aware of safe driving again, and be more careful when I stop or park my car.

I was told that, but it is so true. Sorry...

Thinking back, when I started driving again after a 10-year period of being a paper driver, I drove much more carefully. I was a slow driver. Are there any cars coming out from the side, is the distance between cars appropriate, and are there any motorcycles or other vehicles in the vicinity?I think he was paying attention to various areas and was aware of safe driving to the point of being noticed.

In that light, the injury was caused by my familiarity and pride. It is unfortunate that it was not a major accident, but I really feel nothing but remorse.

Porsche is easy to drive and gives the illusion that one's driving has improved. I think that this also led to my slackness, so from now on, I would like to get my mind right again, go back to my beginner's mindset, and drive safely.

Incidentally, we are planning to send it in for repair today, and will report back in a later blog on the cost of the repair and how the damage was subsequently repaired.

    Hello 00.
I am HAMABOKU (981BS left MT) who commented once before.

    Sorry to hear that. As I said, I too scraped the underside of my left side sill about 2 months ago (^^;
I was thinking about something else at the time and was about to make a left turn into one of the stores and didn't realize there was a curb.............gah gah gah. After all, that's what happens when you scrape a car. Usually, I drive carefully, so I'm fine, but when I suddenly scrape the curb, it happens. And it's not a big, loud one, it's just an ordinary scrape or something...

I understand your pain, but it's just a car, fix it and it will be back to normal. As long as you don't run over people, it's okay, it can't be helped. I try to think to myself, "It's okay, as long as I didn't hit anyone.

      So it was...!

Sure, it rubs off at a moment's notice, it feels...
It seems to me that a momentary lapse of attention, that's when it rubs off.

It was certainly a blessing in disguise this time, so I'm going to change my mind and drive safe!

    Even the bad, frustrating events.
What you share on your blog is
It's not easy to do, and I think it's a very wonderful thing.

I'll look forward to seeing more from you!
Don't let your feelings be dented as well.

      Thank you!
I took my Cayenne to a sheet metal shop today.
On reflection, I hope you change your mind and continue to enjoy your car life!
Thank you for your continued support.

    Hello. - Hello.
I only scratched the car a little... and that's a good thing.
I've even heard of people running over their own kids while backing up at home.

Holy shit, I know they say it's an expensive learning curve, but I guess Porsches and other foreign cars are going to cost you a good amount of money.

    • Mina.Mina.

      YuKe.
Well... it was just a little scrape on the car.
It didn't involve anything or anyone else.
I'll take that as a sign that I paid an expensive study fee and learned something important...!

Thank you for your continued support.

Sorry for your loss. how many times do you have to say it?

  5. Buzzer beater!

    Good evening.
I'm glad it didn't turn out to be a big accident.
We've all been there, so don't worry too much about it, as you've written yourself.
I hope you can return to your beginner's mindset and continue to drive safely.
I thought that the husband, who gives gentle attention, and Mina, who takes it in stride, have a good marriage.
Try not to be too depressed.

    • Mina.Mina.

      Buzzer beater! Mr.
      Thank you!
Yes, I know, I'm going to go back to my beginner's mindset, keep this in mind, and drive safe and tight!

      >I thought that the husband who gently cautions and Mina who takes it in stride have a good marriage.
Try not to be too depressed.

Thank you very much! In times like this, I feel even more remorseful when I am gently reminded... (laughs)

  6. good luck

    Was this your first accident?
I'm so sorry to hear about the scrape, but whatever it was, I'm glad it didn't result in any injuries or major accidents!

I have also had a property damage accident when parking.

I was about to be late for a meeting, so I rushed to park in a multi-story parking lot of a shopping mall...
I did not notice a cart left in the parking space and hit the cart, which also caused noticeable damage to my car.

According to Heinrich and Bird's Law, the ratio of property damage to serious accidents seems to be 30:1.
I wanted to be very careful about my overconfidence, carelessness, lack of concentration and assumptions about driving!

    • Mina.Mina.

      Yoshikichi.

When I used to drive an Audi A3, I used to scrape really well, but that hasn't happened much lately.
Moreover, as the author of this kind of blog, I felt bad....

Beyond property damage, there are serious accidents, right?
I really had to be careful again this time around.
      Thank you!

Hi, I always enjoy reading your blog!

    > From here on out, we'll be on our toes again.

I'd feel better if I paid for the repairs myself...lol
