My husband bought an S63AMG coupe - what did he think of it after taking delivery?

S63AMG Coupe
Reviews & Test Rides

My husband reported via email.

Three days ago, on a Thursday afternoon, I checked my cell phone after a day's work and found this text message from my husband.

I just took delivery of my S63AMG coupe. I've driven it.

Oh...seriously...they were talking about buying or buying a car, and now it looks like they have finally taken delivery of it. This time he bought a used Mercedes-Benz S63AMG coupe from 2014.

The fastest version of the S-Class Coupe, ancestor of the CL-Class, was introduced in outline this way when it was launched in 2014.

Husband's First Impressions.

I have not seen it in person yet, but my husband has driven it immediately after taking delivery, and he told me what he thought of it. However, he did not take the time to drive it, so this is just a first impression.

Although it is just a first impression.'It's a totally different car from the Panamera, in a totally different direction. If anyone is torn between these two cars, I'd tell them they're comparing the wrong thing."He emphasized.

(1) Overall impression

It is not a car that makes you feel like a fighter. It is not a car that makes you feel like you are in combat mode.
It is not as hard or difficult to drive as one might imagine from the AMG brand image, and is generally a quiet and comfortable car.
When driving in comfort mode, it feels like a proper Mercedes-Benz. Moist footing.
But compared to the old R129 SL500 and other R129s of the past, the massive feel of the Mercedes-Benz seems somewhat diminished.

(2) AT, acceleration

No shift shocks on the AT. Super comfortable.
Perhaps it is because I am used to PDK, but I feel a bit of dry running when accelerating from very low speeds.
When you step on it, it is quite fast. The lack of speed is excellent.
The accelerator is light. It's a world of difference from the old Mercedes Benz. It is much lighter than the Panamera.
Acceleration and acceleration Gs are felt more in the Panamera.
The Panamera has a strong sense of kicking the ground. The S63 Coupe accelerates as if it were gliding.

(iii) Engine and engine noise

The engine has solid torque from low rpm. It seems to have more than Panamera.
The sound of the engine is a pleasant, throbbing V8 sound when the engine is in sport mode and revved above medium rpm.
It seems quieter than the Panamera's sport exhaust.

(4) Suspension and handling

When the suspension is set to sport, the ride is between the normal and sport of the Panamera.
The sport setting increases the sense of ground contact and gives a drier feel, but not to the extent of a sense of oneness between rider and horse.
Compared to the Panamera, the steering wheel angle is not directly proportional to the arc drawn by the body.
The brakes work well, but the initial touch is soft, so if you switch from a Porsche, you may feel a little uneasy during sport driving.

Conclusion.

So my husband's conclusion, or rather his general comment, is this.

If I want to enjoy driving on mountain roads and highways, I would go for the Panamera. If I want to drive around town or cruise long distance, I would go for the S63 Coupe.

Well, today.AMG GT 4-door Coupe - Rock on Panamera! AMG GT 4-door coupeThe article was getting a lot of RTs on twitter. Did they really lock on? While I am also curious about this one, I would like to drive the S63AMG coupe as well.

  1. How to Support Life

    Hi Mina.
There was actually a time when I was considering the Panamera or the AMGS63 (I already concluded with the Panamera).
I am amused by your husband's "I want to tell you that you are comparing the two wrongly.

But I have to say that the AMG GT63 (tentative name?) announced at the last Geneva (or was it Geneva?) AMG GT63 (tentative name?) announced at was a shock in a sense.
It looks just like the Panamera. Where did Mercedes' willpower go?
But I am interested. I won't buy it, though, because the trunk looks too small.

Hello. Thank you for your comment!
      >In fact, there was a time when I was considering the Panamera or the AMGS63 (although I already concluded with the Panamera).
Oh...you were right! Different comparisons...apparently (laughs)
I saw the AMG GT63! I don't know if it's okay to make it look so much like a Panamera... (laughs)...
However, I would like to test drive it once too....
