I took a Porsche 911 Cabriolet to see the Taikan.

Taikan Roadshow

The other day, I was asked to write an article titled "Taycan Roadshow 2020My husband and I went to an event called "Taycan Roadshow 2020" to be held at Grand Front Osaka. The "Taycan Roadshow 2020" is an exhibition event that has been held throughout Japan since August, where visitors can directly touch the actual vehicles and feel the Taycan spirit, and it has finally come to Osaka.

Last December.I was allowed to attend a preview of the Taikan, saw the actual car and heard various explanations. But I can't believe it's been almost a year since then... At the time, I thought, "I'm not going to be able to do this.I wonder if this time next year I will be able to test drive a Taikan...etc., but I guess test drives and delivery of cars in Japan are yet to come.

On the day of the event, I was able to have my mother watch the children. I was able to have my mother watch the children, so I decided to take the 911 Cabriolet, which had just been delivered to me, and head out.

On the way there, I drove the highway for the first time, butIn terms of acceleration, high-speed ground feel, handling, and various other aspects, the 911 is by far the best of the Porsche models in terms of performance.I realized that

Also, compared to the sports models of other manufacturers that I have had the opportunity to test drive, the latest 911 seemed to be of a different dimension. After all, the 911 is a truly amazing car that bears the Porsche signature.

I think any car that Porsche makes is firmly Porsche, no matter which model it is.I can see why many Porsche drivers are fascinated, fascinated, and obsessed with the 911.I had a feeling.

My husband is a

I don't think there are many people who really like driving who can't appreciate the performance of this 911. I think most people can tell the moment they get in the car that it is totally different from other cars.
This time 992.I personally wasn't impressed at first. But now I love it. I think the bare-bones Carrera is very good, as the previous reviews said. The engine response is so good, it's like an NA with lots of torque. The suspension is sporty, solid, and grounded, very much like a sports car, or a 911 of yesteryear. In my case, I'm glad I chose a plain Carrera. It suits my taste.

I really think that's true. I hope to be able to go for a long drive in a 911 Cabriolet soon.

Experience Taikan

On this day.It had been a while since I had been in the Osaka Station area, but there were so few people that it was hard to believe it was a holiday. Is it still the influence of Corona? I wonder if fewer people dare to come out to the city for holidays and, on the contrary, more people go to the suburbs.

The inside of Grand Front Osaka was also deserted, with few customers.

And this time, the "Taycan Roadshow 2020" was held right in front of the Mercedes Me! I took a quick peek at the Mercedes Me, and saw a beautiful blue G-Class on display, with a sign that said "test drive available". I would like to test drive it again.

And the key to the event venue of Taikan is this: the atmosphere is like this.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid and Panamera E-Hybrid were displayed on both sides with the Taikan in the center, and when seen side by side like this, the Taikan's sense of otherness and futurism is amazing. It has an aura of sophistication and looks quite conspicuous when running in the cityI have the impression that the

Unlike the previous preview, the Taikan Turbo on display this time was not equipped with the Sports Design Package, so the air curtains under the front lights were thin and sleek.

Vehicles equipped with the Sports Design Package

Also, the wheels on the car on display looked really cool.

."If I were to buy a Taikan, I would love these wheels.I looked it up because I thought, "This is a20-inch Taycan Turbo aero wheelsI was told that the wheels are standard equipment if you have a turbo, but if you have a 4S and choose these wheels, the price will be 359,000 yen. I guess wheels are expensive...!

By the way, the following photos show the wheels of the exhibited car at the last Taikan preview.

This is cool, though.

And the last time I was at a preview, I was in a Panamera and saw the Taikan, so I said, "You know what?"I think the back seat is a little cramped.I was under the impression that it was a very small car, but now that I have parted with my Panamera and usually drive a Cayenne, the back seat of the Taikan on top of it still felt very small.

The overhead doesn't feel that cramped, but the width of the seat is a little narrow, so in the current state of our house, we have to use the "Two car seats in the back for a family of five.If it's a "yes," then...even if it's okay for short distances, it's going to be difficult for long distances.(I'm sure the kids would definitely squirm)

This time, the staff from the nearest Porsche Center was there, and my husband heard a few stories, and I asked my husband what they talked about.

One of our staff members actually drove a Taikan, and he said that it drives more like a 911, especially a Carrera 4S, than like a Panamera. I had an image that it was similar to the Panamera, but it's not. Hearing that, I'm really curious to see how it drives!

And.

Heh, I didn't know that!

I guess the Taikan is more of a sports car than it looks. I'd love to test drive one when it comes to Japan!

Then on the way home. I asked my husband if he thought he wanted a taikan

I'll buy it. I've already made a reservation. It's just that this timeI bought a Cayenne Hybrid.I think it will be a little later in the lot from
But I am a little concerned about the charging environment in Japan, rather than the performance or design of the Taikan. It's fine if you are just driving around the neighborhood, but if you are going on a mid-range touring trip of 500 km or more for a day trip like me, I would be concerned about it.
Taikan 4S.cruising rangeIt says that the "MYRT" has a range of 463 km, but I will never be able to drive that far depending on how I run and whether I use the air conditioner or not. If this is the case, we need to find a hotel with a quick-charging system and stay overnight to fully charge the battery and come back home.
I would like to see a charging infrastructure in Japan, for example, where quick charging is readily available at gas stations...

This was the case.

Indeed, if the infrastructure for recharging were better equipped, and if it were possible to drive long distances without having to worry about it, Taikan might be a possibility.

Some of my husband's acquaintances have already made reservations and are planning to purchase the car, so I would like to hear more about the actual situation once the car is delivered.

  1. Buzzer beater!

    Good evening.
The Taikan roadshow was also held in Tokyo at the same time, and I visited the venue, Tokyo Midtown Hibiya.
This is the first time I have seen an actual Taikan, and it is pretty cool.
I thought it was a four-door sedan, but the sports car-like styling and seating position changed my view of the Taikan for the better!

      Buzzer beater! Mr.
      Thank you for everything!
I see that the Taikan Roadshow was also held in Tokyo.
The real thing, as you say, is quite a bit cooler than it looks in the pics!
If only I could get a good charging environment, I'd love to ride it!
