What Inspired Me to Start This Blog…

Yesterday, I had a lunch meeting for work in Umeda, so I decided to take my newborn daughter along in the Panamera. Since the Panamera is over 1900mm wide, the parking options are naturally limited. Parking garages with lifts are basically out of the question. I ended up parking at the relatively affordable and spacious Hankyu Umeda Station parking lot (1-1-2 Shibata, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture).

Is there any car as amazing as this?

After finishing the meeting smoothly, I went to pick up the Panamera from the parking lot and drove for a while, and I couldn’t help but sigh.

“Ah, Panamera, what an incredible car you are…”

Even after driving it every day, it never fails to impress.

From its commanding presence in the parking lot, the aura of a true champion, the acceleration merging onto the highway, the engine’s distinctive sound, the perfect harmony between driver and machine at the wheel, the faithful acceleration matching every press of the pedal, the solid grip on the road, the stability, the substantial yet composed feel of its large body, and yet the driving never feels heavy or cumbersome — just sitting in it makes you feel like your status has somehow been elevated…

It’s simply amazing, beyond words.

Sure, it’s not great for tight turns, can’t fit in every parking spot, has poor fuel economy, and struggles on narrow roads — but it’s a car that far surpasses all those drawbacks. I was bursting with these feelings and just had to email my car-loving husband about it. (Even though he was working, lol)

And he replied immediately:

“Yeah, I get it. That’s just what this car is. If you love the Panamera that much, why not start a blog about it? lol”

Even though he suggested a blog, I thought, “Who’d really be interested if I just go on and on about how much I love the Panamera?” But then I realized, it’s probably pretty rare in Japan to find someone who loves the Panamera more than the 911, so maybe I could write some really interesting stuff… With that in mind, I kept driving and started mulling it over.

A Moment at the Preview Event

Speaking of which, when my husband and I were invited to the new Panamera preview event, automotive journalist Goro Okazaki, who was a guest there, spoke about just how amazing the Panamera is.

Most attendees just nodded politely, but I was the only one who

“Yeah, yeah, exactly! That’s so true!!”

nodded enthusiastically. After the event, my husband said,

“You were nodding so much it was kind of creepy to watch. Why don’t you just become Goro Okazaki’s apprentice?”

Since then, whenever the topic comes up, he keeps saying,

“If you love the Panamera that much, why not ask Porsche Japan to let you be a Panamera evangelist for free?”

“If you love the Panamera that much, why not go visit the Panamera factory in Germany?”

So after thinking it over, I’ve decided to start this Porsche blog. First, I’ll be sharing daily updates about just how incredible the Panamera really is.

If anyone out there reads this… thank you in advance, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
