Thoughts on the Porsche Panamera Fire Accident on the Hanshin Expressway Route 3 Kobe Line

Shocking News…
Since yesterday, I’ve been on a family trip to Kyushu in the Panamera, and when we arrived at our accommodation, I casually watched the evening news—only to be hit with shocking news.
A Porsche caught fire near Amagasaki on the Hanshin Expressway Route 3 Kobe Line. A truck overturned.
What?! ((;゚Д゚)!!
The section near Amagasaki on the Hanshin Expressway Route 3 Kobe Line is the very road my husband drives on daily for work. I also drove there just recently. And the Porsche that caught fire was a 970 Panamera.

According to the news, the truck driver, who was in his 70s, unfortunately passed away. The condition and safety of the Panamera driver and passengers remain unknown.
Don’t Overestimate Yourself
The Amagasaki section of the Hanshin Expressway isn’t particularly sharp in curves; it’s a clear stretch with three lanes. There are no especially tight turns, and visibility is good throughout. I wondered if the Panamera was speeding too much… but since there are many unmarked police cars around here, most vehicles seem to be driving under 100 km/h.
Whether the Panamera suddenly tried to overtake or the truck made a risky move, the exact circumstances are unclear. But the tragic fact remains: this was a fatal traffic accident.
When an accident happens on roads I frequently drive, it hits home—it’s never just someone else’s problem.
I often feel that “the Panamera’s impressive capabilities go mostly unused in city driving.” So on highways, I sometimes find myself happily pushing the speed a bit, and the speedometer can jump to surprising numbers with just a slight press on the accelerator.
Also, Porsche’s excellent stability and enjoyable steering can make you overconfident in your driving skills.
But above all, the most important thing to keep in mind when driving is “safe driving.” The joy of driving comes second. I have renewed my commitment to always drive safely.
