Reviews & Test Rides

Start from Katsurahama

The morning of the second day starts from Nankoku City.
It's still sunny. I plan to get up earlier and take a walk in Katsurahama in the early morning, but I oversleep.

Prepare in a hurry and check out.

Katsurahama

Ryoma Sakamoto statue

First, run 911 to Katsurahama.Previously, I visited Kaitsumi Shrine (Ryuogu) in KatsurahamaAfter that, I feel like I'm lucky, so I'm grateful for that.

The sun has risen, but the Pacific Ocean seen from Katsurahama is still magnificent. Slip in before the parking lot is crowded and stroll along the beach. Then, without visiting anyone, I worshiped at the Dragon Royal Palace alone in serious mode, looking at the tourists who were just taking pictures of the scenery.

I left Katsurahama to convey the safety of the trip and my daily gratitude.

Yokonami Kuroshio Line

Then run along the coast of K14. I used to run here in 964 early in the morning, but at that timeI remember that the sea fog that could enter the sea was so beautiful that I got goose bumps. Then enter the Yokonami Kuroshio line and enjoy the first winding on that day. This road has many deceleration zones in the west and is difficult to drive, but the Kochi city side is relatively enjoyable.

If you put it in sports mode and run 911 in AT mode, everything is enough within almost 4000 rpm. That's fast enough. Even if you don't turn it to high rpm, the moderate mechanical noise that seems to be 992 and the sound that accompanies the addition of the turbo are comfortable, which is fun.

Even in the uphill corner, the front will come in without a break, and you can feel that the front tires are firmly in contact with the ground in any situation, so it seems that you will forget about RR.

That much 992 can run well without being aware of the characteristics of 911.

Go to Shikoku Karst through the famous Higashitsunojogawa forest road

After passing through Susaki City, we will aim for Shikoku Karst. There are several ways to approach Shikoku Karst, but most of them are narrow and difficult to drive. If you are not good at it, you may get lost in a narrow road that is extremely difficult to separate, so be careful.

Therefore.I try to get to Shikoku Karst from the Higashitsunojogawa forest road.

However, this time, I made a mistake on the way up and went up by the route K304 from via R439. Although we can join the Higashi Tsunojogawa Forest Road from the middle, it is regrettable that we bypassed most of the fun section. Looking forward to the return trip, I will raise the altitude to Shikoku Karst.

Shikoku Karst and Porsche 911

Shikoku Karst

As it is in the middle of Golden Week, there are many cars and people, but this is a famous place. The scenery spreads over the overwhelming scale and the wonderful karst plateau, and the roof of 911 naturally remains open and runs along the ridge.

Since there are many people, I hurried to the Higashi Tsunojogawa forest road, which was the original purpose, without staying long.I ran on GT3 before, but it's a road that I remember having fun enough to "ascend".

Set to Sport Plus mode and operate the paddle manually. There is almost no traffic and it is a wonderful freeway. It can be said that it is one of the best running roads in Shikoku. In Sport Plus mode of 992, there is almost no bubbling sound.Engine control is a mode for purely fast driving, and there is no extra production.

While listening to the live engine sound, run down the mountain at once in 3rd and 2nd speed. I entered R197 while feeling the desire to make another round trip.

To R197, K35, R441

From here, drive west on R197, where you can run fast, and cruise slowly to the roadside station Hiyoshi Yume production area while riding the flow slowly. I couldn't understand it even after reading the explanation, but it is a roadside station characterized by a large female image of a mother and child demon.

Take a break here for a while. I tried to have lunch, but the restaurant is already closed. I had no choice but to bite the bread and opened the touring maple to decide the next route.

Head north on R197 for a while and turn right onto K35, which is also a freeway in the mountains. Then enter R441 and drive toward Ozu City. And this R441 is quite good. Comfortable winding through the mountains with two lanes and less traffic. I was able to increase my pace and enjoy myself.

Driving in a Porsche

Tomorrow, I will board the ferry early in the morning and cross to Kyushu, so I will head to today's inn early. I went south to Seiyo City and arrived at the hotel, but it was said that check-in was from 16:00, but it was still about 10 minutes early.

When I was wandering around the entrance, the hotel seemed to notice me and let me in. It's a cheap hotel, but there is no particular inconvenience because you just sleep.

For the Kyushu edition from tomorrow, I finished the touring on the second day while carefully checking the route.

I am Mina's husband. We don't drive cars for fashion or status symbols. We like cars that are fun to drive, are good industrial products, and have a sense of the maker's intention...

    I always enjoy reading it.
He is riding the 992 Carrera of Venturi Green, which I have met by chance before.
It's still a long way off, but I'm planning to go to Shikoku Karst in early autumn.
According to the navigation, the route is 197 → 439 → 304, but is it better to continue west on 197 and turn right on the road marked with the public corporation main forest road (Tengubara Plateau)?

I thought that this was the way to go, so I made a comment.
This weekend I will be running on a wide-area farm road in Okayama.

Yes, that's right. It will be this intersection.

I think it's a good idea to turn right from R197 and head towards the karst.
