Photographing Porsche 911 GT3 and Nightscapes|How to take beautiful pictures of cars and nightscapes

My Family's Car Life

External camera flash

It was some time ago that my husband, who wasPurchased an external flash to attach to my current digital SLR camera.I did. By adding this external flash, they can take pictures brighter and less blurry than when shooting normally, so they can take beautiful pictures even indoors in the dark or at night.

It seems like the kind of equipment a professional would use.Why did you buy that?' I asked my husband.

I have been having trouble taking good pictures of my car under cloudy skies or in shadows, or of my children indoors, but with this camera, I can now take beautiful pictures. And with the LED light function, I have a new way of taking pictures that I want to try out.

This was the case.

My husband has always been quite particular about photography, and he often receives compliments on his car photos on this blog. He is also particular about recording the sound of his car's engine and taking videos, so he has quite a lot of equipment.

Still, I wonder what my husband is trying to achieve...W

How to take a picture as shown on Porsche's official Twitter page.

And later that day, my husband went to Harborland in Kobe with his external flash, camera, tripod, and other equipment to take pictures of the 911GT3 in the night view. Here are some photos from that trip.

These photos were taken byPorsche's official introduction to photographyHe tried to take a picture with a
Specifically, set up a tripod and set a slow shutter speed on the camera. At this time, ISO 100 and a shutter speed of about 30 seconds. Leave the shutter open and immediatelyHe would run up to the car and quickly shine his flash LED light on it, moving it with his hand. When he finishes illuminating the car, he quickly moves away from the car.
This way, people who are not illuminated by the light do not appear in the picture, but the car appears as if it were illuminated by a spotlight, resulting in a beautiful photograph. One thing to keep in mind is that the light from the LED light should not point directly at the camera, or else a band of light will appear in the picture.

I am not familiar with these things, so I have no idea how it works even though I heard the explanation, but there are so many different ways to take pictures. My husband said about this photo.

I got a better picture than before, but the angle of view and details still bothered me a bit. It was cold, so I cut out halfway through, but I wanted to stick around for another hour or so. I'll go back for revenge. ・・・・・・・

He said. So, if I can take another beautiful picture that my husband will agree with, I will share it on my blog. w

    Hello.

Not related to the article, but my GT4 was scheduled for production as soon as the factory reopened.
The delay was just about the duration of the stop.
If the factory is able to operate at full capacity, the cars would be delivered in the fall or so.
It has taken exactly one year from the time of reservation to production, and I can't believe how much they are keeping me.
    This is my first experience.
M3 was about six months, so.
I'm feeling a little tired of waiting. ・・・・

Hello. Thank you for your comment!
So you finally decided to go into production! Congratulations!

      >It has taken exactly one year from booking to production, and this is the first time I have experienced such a hold-up.
      It takes so long that I almost forget I have a reservation... ^^..;
If the car is delivered in the fall or so, I envy you because the season is good and you will be able to enjoy breaking in the car.
Our 992 has not been contacted yet, but we hope to have the car delivered by the end of the year.

Mina-sama, Dan-sama (difficult to call you, do you have a nickname?) Hello.

The night view photo is wonderful. It looks like a spotlight with the brightness around the car.
I would like to comment on a personal hobby.

Of the three pictures, the first one is quite nicely balanced. I would like to see a lower angle one as the overlapping lines of the pedestrian bridge are a bit distracting, and I would also like to see one with a bit more light on the front hood area.
The second one is a little more telephoto and the Ferris wheel is bigger. Scrolling through the blog, it would also look cool to cut off the top and make it horizontal. If you can get the roof line out over the pedestrian bridge and the background can be the night sky, you might be able to light it up.
The last one is wide-angle, so the rear line of the Carrera is elongated and wonderful. The reflection of the background lights on the roof is also beautiful. The lights of the Maritime Museum (or was it the Maritime Museum?) look white to the naked eye. The lights of the Maritime Museum (or is it?) are probably mercury lamps and look white to the naked eye, but in the photo, they look greenish. This is beautiful in its own way, but I wonder what would happen if a green filter was applied to the LEDs and the white balance of the entire image was adjusted. Well, post-processing might be more modern, but I am an old-fashioned person.

    Sorry for the self-serving comment.
I look forward to more great photos in the future.

      Thank you for everything.
My husband seems to be doing it under the name "Hiro" in case you are wondering, so Hiro will be fine ^^; Thank you for your concern.

      Photography is very deep.
Just changing the color tones of the actual photo can totally change it, and there are so many different ways to shoot it.
I am sure that even at the same location, completely different photos will be produced.
(I am not familiar with that area at all ^^;)

Also, my husband said he was going to go back for revenge.
If I can get a satisfactory photo, I'll hopefully blog about it again!
Thank you for your continued support.
