Test-drove an Abarth 595 manual - stylish, sounding, and easy to drive!

Reviews & Test Rides

Then I nervously lifted the clutch and pressed the accelerator pedal, and was relieved to find that the car started properly. The car had to start on a slope at the point where the car left the Higashi Rokko Observation Deck and entered the mountain road in Ashiyu, but it cleared the slope as well. The owner of the car told us

Shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, so smooth, you're good!

(Laughs) It's a 1400CC, so it's not a powerful car by any means, but it's a car with a lot of power.Even when running up the hill of the mountain pass in second gear, the car ran unexpectedly strong. There is no discomfort in the handling, and as the owner mentioned at the beginning, the shift lever is perfectly positioned.

Combined with the compact body sizeEnjoyment as if you have it all under your control. There is a. Then here is where the owner of the

Try pulling in second gear and accelerating!

When he suggested that we accelerate harder on the straightaway, we were able to enjoy a very pleasant engine sound.

Classy and extended exhaust sound. It is not a bombastic or powerful sound, but it is a "sound that is not a bomb".timbreIt had a good sound that I would call "a good sound". I'm more than the exhaust sound of a car with a modified muffler.(When I was once given a ride in a supercar with a modified muffler, I rudely said, "The engine sounds like a cow giving birth!" I once said...)I still like the genuine sound.

If it feels this good in stock, I thought, it's more than enough!

Also, while driving the Abarth 595, I feltfeeling of camaraderieIt's a "companionable car. Depending on the car, there are models that make you feel like a partner and models that don't, but in the case of this car, even after a short test drive, I felt that I became attached to it.

I will want to drive this car not only for daily shopping, but also to go on long trips to various places.Brick-paved road with old Italian townscapeAnd thinking about how much fun it would be to run....

By the way, I asked him how he was doing on the highway.

This is pretty amazing. I always drive at about 1.0 km/h, but I have no problem at all. But maybe because I drive like that, my fuel consumption is only 9km/l, which is a bit low.

And.

When I hear that the fuel economy is 9km/l, I don't know if that value is good or bad because my senses are numb from seeing the fuel economy of the GT3 and Panamera Turbo... lol.

."And try matching the revs on downshifts!I'm practicing rev matching in my BMW 320i right now, but I'm always getting a "no" because I'm so stiff on the gas pedal.Squeak!I had to stop this time, because I had never had a successful attempt with a "gakkun" sound and a tremendous shock.

After that, we backed up at a parking lot on the way to Ashiu and went back the way we came, but thanks to you, we were able to finish the test ride without stalling even once. What a relief!

I want to drive different cars.

It was only a 10-minute test ride.Realizing that the manual Abarth 595 is a very easy and fun car to drive! The shift lever was easy to enter and the clutch was light and connected in a deep position. The shift lever was easy to engage, and the clutch was light and connected at a deep angle, so even a manual beginner like myself could ride without feeling self-conscious.

Also, I'm not...Manual cars are easier to drive on the left than on the right.I also discovered that I am a right-handed person. I am right-handed, so I feel more comfortable operating the shift lever on the right. Next MT car I buy, I should look for a left-hand drive car.(W.) (W.) (W.) (W.) (W.) (W.) (W.)

Also, Abarth is fashionable in both exterior and interior, so it seems to be well received by wives and women. ...So, I am sorry that my review ended up being sensational and fluffy, unlike my husband's... (-_-)

Thank you to the owner who graciously gave us a ride this time! Thank you so much!

When I went to Ashiu recently, blog readers and followers approached me and asked me about the cars I owned. Please drive it! We don't mind if you post it on your blog at all!I have been getting more and more opportunities to receive "I'm very, very thankful. I am very, very grateful.

Actually, I've been very interested in the Porsche recently, as well as the Roadster and Supra... I wonder if anyone would be willing to let me test drive them at Ashiu.

I'm sorry, I'm getting a little carried away.

    good morning

    Abarth 595
    Did you have fun⁉️?
We had them in our home for five years until recently.
Two-pedal with single clutch in competition

My wife bought it because she liked the shape.
The exhaust note of the Record Monza is pleasant.
    Good.
But what my wife really wanted was
    It was a lovely chink.
    I recently switched to Chink.
Although the shape is the same, they are completely different vehicles.
    This is a relaxing ride.
    It's fun.

Ita car has a nice atmosphere.
You must have one of these cars.

      Abarth 595, it was fun.
Italian cars, including the interior and design, are very stylish!
I wanted to run through the streets of Italy (laughs).

      >But what my wife really wanted was
      >It was a lovely chink.
      >I switched to Chink the other day.

I don't know much about Abarth.
I did my research and learned about Chink this time.
      It's so cute.
I thought to myself, "If my daughter gets her driver's license, I want her to drive a car like this!

Cars are so deep - there is still so much I don't know about them.

I am Ishi, who previously advised me about the garage floor tiles. Thank you for your help on that occasion.

    >I switched to Chink the other day.
I am also a FIAT 500 (Cinquecento) driver. I bought it 3 years ago because I fell in love with the design at first sight. 1.2 (4 cylinder NA) and Twin Air (2 cylinder turbo) were both tested and I preferred the 1.2. There have been no major problems except for the stock wiper, which I had to replace because of its excessive chattering noise (perhaps the current model has a countermeasure for this), and the battery, which died suddenly and needed to be replaced.
It is just right for my commute and I never get bored because I can run the engine within the legal speed limit. I am sure I will have a long relationship with it.

    Mina.
When Mina was choosing a MT car, I was going to recommend the FIAT500 or Abarth, but decided against it because of the danger of having a child in the back seat in case of a collision. I would highly recommend both the FIAT500 and the Abarth for enjoying a one-person ride after you have finished raising your child.

    • Mina.Mina.

      Mr. Ishi.
      >I did not want to put my child in the back seat because it would be dangerous in case of a rear-end collision.
I see that you were right! Thank you for your consideration.
With an Abarth or FIAT 500, I can go anywhere and have fun.
I was having a little fun imagining that when my child gets his license, he will be happy to drive a car like this (laughs).

Nice to meet you, good evening.
Perhaps you were at PC last Saturday morning with your family?
This is the one that had my wife and daughter-in-law at the table next to 992, and we had two little girls with us.
Maybe that blog you're always looking at...
    But I was in a hurry because I had an errand to run, so I left quickly ^^;

    Abarth 595 sounds like fun.
I only have experience with chinks, but I remember it being quite fun. My friend's two-pedal car in Japan was good, but the 5MT (right-hand drive) car I rented in the UK in 2015 was even better. Looking at the photos from that time, it seems that the meter display is almost the same (the only difference is that the 0-50 on the right side is 0-5 and eco index for the UK version).

As for the difference between right-hand and left-hand MT, downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear is slightly easier with the left-hand drive, while shifting from 2nd to 3rd, 4th to 5th, and 6th to 7th is easier with the right-hand drive because the driver can operate them with the palm of the hand facing inward.

    even so
    > I'm practicing rev matching on my BMW 320i, but I'm not sure if it's because I'm hesitant to accelerate, or if it's because I'm not sure I'm doing it right.
    > I've never succeeded in getting it to work because I always get a "squeak! and a tremendous thud, and I've never succeeded.

is a mystery that is only getting more mysterious on the blog. What is that squeaking sound? It doesn't sound like that even if the revs don't match...perhaps you are trying to connect the clutch when it's not in gear properly? Or is it the tires going momentarily?
In any case, the clutch should not be connected abruptly.

    • Mina.Mina.

I see, there will still be some differences between left-hand drive and right-hand drive.

Perhaps the clutch is connected too rapidly (sweat).
My husband often tells me, "If I give you one piece of advice, you'll forget everything else and that's all you'll ever do again."
When it comes to accelerating the accelerator by matching the rotation, that's all I can think about anymore...

But now, without forcing myself to practice that kind of thing, I think I need to learn to drive smoothly and without discomfort first.
      I started driving normally (sweat).
