Porsche Owners File #22] 911 Carrera 4 GTS (991) Purchase, Options and Driving Review

Porsche 911

(5) Options

Since it is a certified pre-owned vehicle, we knew it would be impossible to fulfill 100% of the "this is what I would order" factors.

As previously mentioned.Only the following requirements are mandatory: white color and GTS standard wheels as exterior, GTS interior package as interior, and right-hand drive.I was looking for a car with LED headlights, power folding door mirrors, interior light design package, heated seats, adaptive cruise control, rear view camera with park assist, and entry and drive system.

As a result, the items described in "2) Optional specifications" were attached, but I would like to make the following comments.

It's a good thing you're lucky! I think it's a good thing

GTS Interior Package (Carmine Red)

Maybe it can be set up to some degree individually with a tequipment or external product, but I definitely wanted the GTS interior package to come with it, whether it be Carmine Red or Rhodium Silver. In fact, I am really pleased with the presentation of the package.

Heated seats (front left and right)

In our area, winter tires are usually installed from November to April. This time, GTS was not equipped with winter tires, which means that we did not plan to drive the car in winter, so we were not concerned about whether or not heated seats were available.

Still, as soon as the snow melted, we got on, because it was still so cold at that time of year.I knew it was good to have heated seats.is(It is standard on the 991.2 Carrera 4GTS, and the 992 model is also standard.)

Carrara White Metallic

Again, like the Panamera, the body color will be "Carrara White MetallicIt is a 'white', but it does not have any of the bluish-white that I felt with the Panamera, and looks more like a solid white.

I recognized that I prefer solid white, and this was a good thing, but this has renewed my desire to check the color on the actual car as much as possible if I have the opportunity to purchase a Porsche car in the future.

Things that are not attached, but I wish I had looked for an individual that was attached.

Park assist system (front and rear, with rear view camera)

This particular unit has a rearview camera, but does not have park assist. Since there is no option for a rearview camera only as a factory-installed option, I was wondering if only the camera would be retrofitted.I really wanted the park assist. It is.

By the way, it is silent when I shift into reverse, is that how the 911 is supposed to be?

In fact, it is somewhat difficult to tell whether or not the car is in reverse because it does not say anything when shifting into reverse.

Electric folding door mirrors

I leave the mirrors unfolding in the parking lot of my condo because there is surprisingly little pop-out feeling without the door mirrors folded, but even so, it would have been convenient to have electric retraction!(According to the person in charge of the PC Center, many customers park without folding the door mirrors.)The following is a list of the most common problems with the "C" in the "C" column.

In addition, theI wish there was a feature that would allow the passenger side mirror to face down in reverse... even if it can't be electrically retracted. It is. Since the mirror angle can be adjusted electrically, I would like to see a so-called reverse mode as standard equipment.

Things that were included but would not be so much trouble without

BOSE sound system

It looks like this option costs about 250,000 yen, but to be honest, I don't have much trouble without it. In fact, I am not in an environment where I can enjoy music except when the car is idling in normal mode, so I hardly ever use it.

For about the same price, you can choose the Park Assist System (with front and rear and rear view cameras).Personally, I'd rather have a park assist system than BOSE.It is.

Personal opinion on other options

When you drive a high-performance Porsche, you can enjoy its performance to the fullest...

Sport Chrono Package, Sport Exhaust System, PASM Sport Chassis, PDCC, rear axle steering, PCCB brakes

I am very concerned about what kind of equipment is best for me in terms of driving.

Personally, I have recently come to the conclusion that the standard options available for each model and grade are the most well-balanced, and that if I have trouble deciding which driving options to choose, it is worthwhile to decide whether to complete all the options or none at all. I am thinking that it might be a good idea to make a value judgment.

In that sense.I would like to experience the finish of the PASM sports chassis that comes standard on the 991.2 911 Carrera GTS someday!Yes.

(6) Areas of concern

In 991.1, the instrument panel LCD screen is not linked to the navigation system.(Although it is mentioned in the manual, it is truncated in the notes as "not set for Japanese specifications"...)There is no USB port, so this is an older generation.

Also, it's the identity of Porsche cars these days.No 4 daytime running lights.I think it is still sad, although it is also the fate of MY2015. If I had to be picky here, it would be 991.2 or later.

Then GTS would be turbo, and if turbo is OK, it would be 992 model, 992 model including rear is cool all around, but I still want to drive NA model, then 991.2 would rise to GT3, I have to give up light strip, before that, GT3 is Not worth it...

After much thought and gnashing of teeth, I gave up on the four daylights.

In addition, theOver fenders on the rear.Just as the 971 Panamera had them when it first debuted and they stopped being attached around the 2018 model year to make it look nicer, when did they stop on the 991 model? Well, it's a minor detail...

Lastly, the Panamera, and by far more than the NSX, is the eyesore. From stopping at intersections to convenience stores, supermarkets, and highway parking while refueling...The feeling that someone is watching you is outstanding among all the previous generations of my beloved machines.

Is it the style of a Porsche, the presence of a 911, or the design of a GTS? I don't know what is influencing it, but it is sure to be an eye-catching car.

(7) General comments

."Fusion of high performance and practicalityThe Porsche philosophy of "the Porsche is the best" can be strongly felt in every model.

I guess there is a core of Porsche philosophy that runs through each model, Panamera for Panamera, 911 for 911, and so on.
As a leisure driver in my late 40s, I am currently looking for a change of pace by riding in a sports car on my days off and during gaps in my life.
991.1 Carrera 4GTS fits the bill.It seems to be.

991.1 Carrera 4GTS...In all situations, from daily life areas to long distances on holidays, on straights and winding roads, at low speeds to while cruising at high speeds, etc.Yeah, you're driving a sports car.The joy of "I'm a good person.

I would like to continue to spend time with such 911.

8) What is Porsche to you?

Porsche is aA good partner in my life with my carIt is. We are grateful for the Panamera and expect the 911 to impress and excite.

〘The blog manager's opinion 〙
The GTS, a pre 991, is a car that I would love to drive once. It is the last NA that can be bought as a regular model, and I am sure that it has a depth that the latest 911 cannot offer, such as the leopard-like behavior when it is set to normal mode, sport mode, or sport plus mode. Thank you, Mamma, for this opportunity!
